Meet Amy Davis of Pancake Social in Golden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Davis.

Amy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I finished my master’s degree as a single mom with four kids and started working in digital marketing. I quickly found that corporate America was not a great place for single parents. I was struggling to take days off when my kids were sick and I was spending tons of money on childcare.

I decided to try my hand at starting my own business and Pancake Social was formed. The name came from fun times in my childhood that involved community “pancake socials”, as well as my love of all things pancakes, and the social aspect of digital marketing. I loved how it felt fun and approachable!

Today, Pancake Social focuses on all things digital marketing AND most importantly, gives me the opportunity to spend quality time with my awesome kids!

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting your own business is not the easiest thing in the world. In school, I heard over and over again that most startups fail in the first couple of years and that made the idea of entrepreneurship very scary… just not as scary as trying to keep my family afloat in corporate America. That being said, there were definitely bumps along the road. Finding clients with the same vision is always hard, and there were a few months where I wondered if I was going to have to give up on Pancake Social. Now, I feel like the cobbler with worn shoes. Pancake Social’s site and social presence have fallen to the wayside so I can focus on clients. I swear one day I’ll consistently update everything!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Pancake Social – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Pancake Social is a fun little digital marketing company. It focuses on the idea that marketing should be fun and reflective of your company. I want to make sure my clients and all of their quirks and hard work shine through their websites, social media, and other marketing materials. Becoming real friends with clients has been a highlight. It’s so fun to connect with other business owners and to bond over the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. It’s a great feeling when you make a connection with a client and enjoy the time you get to work together.

What sets Pancake Social apart from others is the individualized attention. I really want to make that the products FEEL like the client- if that makes sense. I hope someone looking at the website or social sees a little bit of the fun parts of Pancake Social, and A LOT of the actual client.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I adore Denver. I lived in eight places before I landed in Colorado and I plan on being here forever! I love the open, startup feel Denver has to offer. The people here are so very nice and accepting. I absolutely LOVE the mountains and the sun. My only beef with Denver is that it has set me up to believe that it should be sunny every day. So when we have like 2-3 cloudy days, I just can’t handle it! I think I’m spoiled!
