Meet Brianna Blair

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Blair.

Brianna, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I grew up in an extremely small victorian town in Pennsylvania, where you can count the gas stations on one hand and everyone knew almost everyone. One of the best things about Bellefonte, however, is the proximity to the Pennsylvania State University’s campus in State College. Twenty minutes down the road and you’re in the hustle and bustle of a college town, a college town that I am lucky enough to call my alma mater. After graduating from Penn State in 2015 with a degree in journalism, I packed up my VW Jetta and drove across the country with my boyfriend, Jake, at the time to start our adventure. With a sight-unseen apartment and no jobs whatsoever, my now-fiance (still Jake) and I started our live together in Denver and have been here ever since.

We’ve fallen in love with the city and the mountains that surround it. We’re big on adventure if you can’t tell, and every weekend we’re hiking, snowboarding or camping somewhere new. Career-wise, I am a content specialist for Shane Co., a well-known Denver staple. On the side, I am also a freelance writer for Cherry Creek and Boulder Lifestyle Magazines. My life has been an adventure from the get-go. My little sister is 15-year childhood cancer survivor which took me on a wild ride at only 11-years-old. I’ve never avoided things that challenged me. In my perspective, a challenge only makes you stronger and what makes you stronger makes you wiser. Here’s to many more years of adventures.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Moving across the country after graduating college was not easy by any means. For me, I graduated with a degree in something that I didn’t really want to do anymore. Being able to take your education and experience and turn it into something your passionate about, even if it doesn’t line up on paper, helps you find your career path. At first, I worked a job I was not passionate about. Once I found my footing in my new city, I was able to land a job that has inspired me to work harder and step outside my comfort zone, while freelancing for Boulder and Cherry Creek Lifestyle magazines helps me to keep my writing skills sharp.

Please tell us more about your work. What do you do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
While I don’t have a company myself, I work for a company that strives to help me be the best that I can be every day. I have room to grow as well as room to let my creative juices flow. I specialize in social media, writing and content creation.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck is an odd concept. I don’t see myself being lucky in any way, I just see myself as working hard for what I want and making changes in life when I see fit. I understand what I can control and what I can’t, and adapt either way. I don’t necessarily believe in good or bad luck, which is odd coming from a girl who used to constantly find four-leaf clovers when she was little. Your life is what you make it.
