Meet Jennifer Hensley of Extra Hand Errand and Event Services in Northwest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Hensley.

Jennifer, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My journey began when I had a gift basket business and wedding business in the early 2000’s. Then over time, it has morphed into the business we have today. This new era allows to help people locally or nationally as our network reach.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a lot of starting and stopping. While this business has become what it is today, there was also a day job. Through the years, I’ve worked in logistics and retail. Each of my jobs has prepared me for running my own business. The experiences in my jobs have fed into me being more versatile.

What should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Extra Hand Errand and Event Services which is located in Arvada, CO. Our goal is to make your life easier by offering you an extra hand. So whether you are the one needing the service or you know of someone, we are here. Our services include: Library visits, Personal shopping, Mail Pick-up, Party delivery, and much, much more.

The primary focus is on seniors, immune suppressed, busy families and any needing an extra hand. I am proud of the fact with the pandemic being able to personally shop for clients in these trying times. There is so much demand to get groceries delivered, that doors have opened up to help many. The thing that sets me apart is working with the client one on one till the shop or task us completed.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
So far my proudest moment was when colleagues in my network called me a “hero”. I do not see myself as such, for me it is simply showing up and doing my job.
