Meet Bri Long of Longevity Productions in Fort Collins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bri Long.

Bri, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2011 I started hosting music festivals in Central Illinois. I threw a festival called From Dusk Til Dawn for two years before moving to Fort Collins in 2013 and continued it one year after living in Fort Collins, CO. After moving to Fort Collins, I was immediately drawn to the music scene here and dove in as quick as I could. I first started by spending as much time in venues as possible and street teaming. After street teaming for a couple years, I joined a local DJ collective formerly called CID Initiative. I ran street team for them for a while until a booking opportunity became open. We hosted a weekly EDM show at Hodi’s Half Note. I began to do all of the bookings for the local show.

Some months passed and CID Initiative broke up. I approached the owner of Hodi’s and asked to continue to the EDM nights, rebranding to Turnt-Table Tuesdays. After the collective broke up, it left many of my friends without musical direction, I took on the role of management and booking for the artists left in the collective. Once I took that step, I branched out of EDM shows, focusing on broadening genres but followed my long life love of Hip Hop. This prompted me to create Longevity Productions as a way to umbrella my many ventures in music.

Has it been a smooth road?
There have been many ups and downs. Financial responsibility for any startup is always the first hurdle. Providing money to throw the shows you want to throw, pay all of the artists, rent the venue, etc. It becomes a larger task than it may seem. Then there is the struggle of getting your name out there. Letting people know you now take yourself and your career seriously. There have also been artists relations that have came to artistic differences, resulting in the non-management by Longevity Productions.

Please tell us about Longevity Productions.
