Meet Liana Sanders of Wet Noses Pet Sitting in Fort Collins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liana Sanders.

Liana, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Like many animal lovers, I got started working with rescue pets from a very young age, volunteering with various rescue organizations and pet sitting for people in my area. In High school I started working for the humane society, then a dog daycare, more dog rescues and the rest is history! I began picking up pet sitting clients while working all of these jobs and eventually branched off to form my pet sitting and dog walking company in 2010.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Most of the road has been pretty smooth but there are always bumps. Learning to manage a team and run a business when I was 23 was a challenge, and managing a quickly growing company always has growing pains. We have had ups and down with our latest down being the challenges that come with coronavirus, but we are surviving! Our staff have been trained on how to prevent coronavirus transmission since we have some clients that still needed pet sitting visits as they are traveling for work, family emergencies, or are essential workers.

Wet Noses Pet Sitting – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a professional pet sitting and dog walking company. We are known for working with our clients to create a custom plan that matches the needs of their household. We care for everything from puppies that need potty breaks every two hours to elderly cats that need special medications or sub-q fluids. We have experience with exotics like parrots and horses. We are very proud of the fact that we have full-time managers who supervise our sitters and are always available if there is an emergency. We service Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor and Greeley.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I am lucky that Northern Colorado is such a pet-friendly area and has been able to weather the recession with relative ease. People here love their pets and want the best care for them!
