Today we’d like to introduce you to Hadley Mick.
Hi Hadley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My family and I moved to Colorado (Broomfield) when I was in 6th grade. I went to middle school and high school in Broomfield and then left for college at Arizona State University, where I studied public relations. After graduating, I moved to Sweden and got a job as an English copywriter at a Swedish marketing/advertising agency. After doing that for two years, I wanted to get back to the U.S. and shift my career focus. I ended up moving to Saint Louis, MO and worked for Enterprise in the fleet management division. I still KNEW that I had more to offer than talking on the phone all day, so I shifted my career focus again and moved back home – to Colorado. Because my sister is also in real estate, real estate had always been something that intrigued me. I knew that being able to be face-to-face with clients and help them with one of the biggest financial transactions of their lives was something that lit a fire in me. Also, coming from an intense customer service background, thanks to Enterprise, I knew that I could wholeheartedly help people find their dream home and do it with sincerity and honesty. I have now been a real estate agent for four years and haven’t looked back. Sure there are ups and downs (just like any other job), but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being the youngest child, I’ve always been somewhat of a risk-taker and made quick decisions without FULLY thinking them through. Directly out of college, I took a job in Sweden, took night classes to learn Swedish, to get my work visa revoked two years later. I moved back to the States to take a completely different job to then realize that my heart was in Colorado. I packed my things BACK up and came full-circle back to Denver in 2016 to start my real estate career. Real estate will ALWAYS have its ups-and-downs as I am helping people navigate through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives. I pride myself on taking on the stress of my clients to try and make things as seamless as possible, and with that comes a few bumps in the road. I’ve come to realize that the younger “fly by the seat of your pants” Hadley needed to take a step back so I can fully focus on my long-term goals in life.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work as a Real Estate agent in the city of Denver and I LOVE what I do. I am lucky enough to help people buy and sell properties in the greater metro area. I have recently joined an incredible team at Compass who will help launch my career to the next level. Not only will my clients have access to my real estate expertise, but they will also have access to my rockstar transaction coordinator and my listing director, who makes listing your home a BREEZE. From coordinating cleaning, paint touch-up, decluttering, staging, photography, website development, videography, content creation and MORE, my team will get your house sold in record time and for top dollar. I am most proud of the bonds that I form with my clients. You can be a complete stranger who I meet at an open house, and by the time we make it to the closing table, it’s like we are part of the same family. I pride myself on treating everyone as if they were someone I’ve known forever and make sure they always know I always have their best interests at heart.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason. Whether those are “good” things or “bad” things, every “thing” is meant to happen one way or another. I also think that having “good luck” is a direct correlation between your work ethic and setting yourself up to be put into situations where good things come from it. And on the contrary, having “bad luck” maybe because of your mindset or a certain approach to a situation.
