Steven, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hello and thank you for the opportunity to share my work and passions. I have been starting and running technology businesses for 25 years. Currently, I am the Founder & CEO of a boutique digital marketing agency that we turned into one of the largest SEO companies in the plastic surgery space.
Prior to that, I was the Co-Founder of Get.com and CEO of Stickam. Stickam made waves as the first massive live streaming video service. At our peak, we had 16 million members and 220 million monthly page views per month. We were ranked above YouTube as the top video destination for teens by Nielsen. I have created other web startups which have been acquired over the years, and I was the Director of Information Security for HMS, Inc., a multinational company that processes over $1 Billion in transactions annually.

When I entered the SEO space, I was shocked when I saw that there are literally no inbound marketing companies specializing in medical & healthcare that are led by an actual technologist—the industry was almost entirely led by salespeople at the time. Few things are more predictable than the failure of your web initiatives when they aren’t led by a true technical specialist. Not that there’s anything wrong with sales, of course. In fact, the whole goal of our agency is to generate leads for our clients, many of whom are the world’s most esteemed plastic surgeons. But, would you suggest someone go to a plastic surgery practice that was created and ran by a person that was never a plastic surgeon? This is the reason I decided to start GrowthMed. I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
We grew pretty darn quick right away. Once our first few clients saw that we actually did what we said we were going to do, they were ecstatic.

All of our initial clients had worked with marketing companies that promised them the world. For all their bluster, those other agencies failed to deliver the SEO rankings, which is sadly the norm in this industry.

GrowthMed, on the other hand, did exactly what we promised. We knocked it out of the park! So, all of our satisfied clients told their respective friends and colleagues. We grew rapidly as positive word-of-mouth spread. Today, GrowthMed manages the online marketing campaigns for medical practices across the country and around the world, with clients in New York, Beverly Hills, London, Germany, etc.
