Alexis, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: When was the last time you felt true joy?
Honestly, I do feel true joy daily between my family, walking in nature, and patting our kitties, BUT a couple of weeks ago, I felt the silly joy you feel as a kid, when my kids, my husband, and I were all jumping on our trampoline. I haven’t ventured on the trampoline in a long time because, well, it just doesn’t feel so great at this stage of life, haha. This night, however, I felt a pull to get on there and just let go. I used to do backflips and frontflips easily as a kid, and though I often still feel like I’m a teen, my head knows better and I haven’t wanted to risk breaking myself by attempting such stunts. My kids were flipping and handspringing left and right and I thought, why not?! I made several solid efforts at a frontflip and though I completed the rotation, I have yet to land on my feet, but what I lacked in landing technique, I definitely made up for in laughter (and motion sickness)!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I have always had a creative thread running through me – though it hasn’t always been consistent, I am drawn to creating and to being inspired by others who create. When I was young, I loved art classes, writing poems, painting, and photography. I enjoy getting lost when I’m in ‘the zone’, and now more than ever, I seek to get to that place and find the things that evoke that feeling of ‘flow’. My mother always had unique jewelry and I think that probably rubbed off on me in terms of my perception of what I saw as special or one of a kind. About eight years ago, I decided to take a metalsmithing class when I was living in Boulder and after posting a few pictures of my creations, more and more people asked when/where they could buy it, so I just went with it! I am inspired by nature, many of my pieces have mountain or animal themes, and other organic shapes, gemstones and raw stones along with silver, copper, or brass. My favorite pieces have been where I’ve started working on a piece with a loose idea in mind, but the process and metal has basically created itself through my hands. My goal is to have offerings that appeal to a broad variety of tastes and most are simple and can be worn daily or as special pieces.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
These are hard questions! At this stage in my life, I’ve been focusing on letting go of how I think I need to show up and embracing how I want to show up. Where I am now is a place where people are accepted for being themselves. I want to encourage my children to feel comfortable in who they are and whatever it is that they want to go after, and being an example of that inspires me as well.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell a younger me that sharpening the ability to listen to my gut, truly, would serve me well on my journey in life.

My family, my friends, being in nature, eating fresh foods/creative dishes, supporting important people/causes, and recycling!

When I’m in the Colorado woods or on a Colorado mountain breathing the fresh air.
