Fayth, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
A common misconception is that my business is flexible or easy because I set my own schedule. What’s often unseen is the planning, continued education, marketing, inventory management, client communication, and everything that encompasses owning a business that happens outside of appointments. It’s a full business, not just a service.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Fayth, a licensed esthetician who focuses on lashes, brows and spray tans based in Northern Colorado. I specialize in natural, lightweight lash sets and custom spray tans that enhance my clients natural features while prioritizing comfort, and beautiful results. My brand is rooted in personalization and trust, every service is customized, and every appointment is designed to feel relaxed, intentional, and elevated. I’ve created a cozy, one-on-one studio experience where clients can unwind, feel heard, and leave feeling confident and refreshed!
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
I’ve been fortunate to have many people in my life who’ve shaped the way I view work and work ethic, my dad, my father-in-law, and my husband have all been strong examples of consistency, responsibility, and pride in what you do. One person who stands out in particular, though, was a manager I had early in my twenties.
At the time, I was working maintenance at a golf course, and that role taught me more than just how to show up and get the job done. My manager set a standard for what it meant to work hard, take ownership, and genuinely care about your career, regardless of the position you’re in. She emphasized doing things the right way, paying attention to details, and taking pride in your work, even when no one is watching. As well as showing up every single day to get the job done. Those lessons have stayed with me and continue to influence how I approach my business today.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self that everything really does happen for a reason, and that even the hard seasons are shaping something meaningful. The moments that feel overwhelming or uncertain won’t last forever, and one day they’ll make sense. “This too shall pass” was something my mom always reminded me of, and it’s something I’ve carried with me ever since, and it has always held true!
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies my industry tells itself is that professionalism means keeping strict emotional distance from clients. While boundaries are important, I don’t believe professionalism and genuine connection are mutually exclusive.
In my experience, building real, respectful relationships with clients is what creates trust, loyalty, and long term success. I’ve grown my business by treating people like people and not like appointments. I remember birthdays, give small gifts around the holidays, and take the time to get to know each client as an individual. When someone is choosing to see you every two or three weeks, they want to feel comfortable and cared for.
That sense of connection has created a strong foundation for my business and a community I’m incredibly proud of.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people don’t focus on what I did for a living or what I accomplished, but on who I was as a person. I want to be remembered as someone kind, humble, and genuine, someone who showed up for others, treated people with respect, and made them feel great. If people remember my character more than my titles, that would mean I lived the kind of life I’m proud of.
