Jeff Miguel shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Jeff, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I recently got the Switch 2, and have been enjoying playing that in the spare moments I can find!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a musician, music educator, and band leader. I have two student community bands. One of them, the sax quintet, put together a Polka set to be able to play Oktoberfests this year. They rebranded as “Shmenge’s Revenge” and already they have several gigs booked.
I lead a group called “The Sax Syndicate” and it’s offshoot “The Syndicate Sax Quartet”. We started in late 2023, and are really starting to gain some traction.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I’m the youngest of three boys and yet I still always sat at the head of the table haha
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I injured my neck in 2018, and I almost had to give up playing saxophone from the pain. However, I pushed through like I always do, and I’m managing the injury and pain and can keep playing.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes! I don’t hide my interests even if they are mostly niche.

I think my students would miss the lessons, classes, and ensembles I teach.
