Katie Frondarina shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Katie, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I feel very much like I’m walking a path I consciously chose. I may know the destination, but the journey itself is where the wandering happens. Sometimes you realize you’ve drifted too far in the wrong direction and when that happens, you have to be willing to step back so you can move forward with more intention. When I truly enjoy the process and stay open to learning along the way, I find that life accelerates naturally. I also become better at letting go of what no longer serves me or weighs me down.
Reading The Alchemist deeply shifted how I view life and navigate challenges. It taught me to trust the journey while staying anchored to my purpose. I regularly remind myself of my monthly, quarterly, and yearly objectives, which helps me stay persistent and see obstacles as opportunities to evolve.
Without a plan, there’s nothing to execute. And without a path, goals remain abstract. The key, for me, is to walk with intention while still observing, learning, and appreciating the journey as it unfolds.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Katie a filipina martial arts athlete, fitness creator, and digital storyteller passionate about discipline, growth, and becoming your most authentic self. My foundation is in Taekwondo (black belt), and over time I’ve expanded into boxing, Muay Thai, and strength training. What began as a way to stay active after middle school naturally evolved into a brand built around movement as a lifestyle, not just a workout routine.
From a young age, being active was second nature to me whether that meant spending hours playing volleyball outdoors or training in a martial arts gym. During and after college, the gym became my constant. I set a simple goal to get stronger and more toned, and that decision ultimately sparked my deeper fitness journey.
Through my content, I share the honest, unfiltered process of training, competing, recovering, and navigating life both physically and mentally. I believe fitness isn’t about perfection; it’s about consistency, self-respect, and the willingness to step outside your comfort zone. My goal is to make fitness and martial arts feel approachable and empowering, especially for women who are just beginning or reconnecting with their confidence.
I’m currently revitalizing my passion through YouTube, a platform I originally turned to during a challenging period in my life. Creating content became both an outlet and a motivator, helping me realign with my long-term goals. Making difficult decisions led me to move from Georgia to Colorado. That transition pushed me far outside my comfort zone and onto a path that brought greater self-awareness, independence, and growth. Stepping into a new environment allowed me to truly spread my wings and continue evolving into the person I’m becoming.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that truly shaped how I see the world was when I was hired as a phlebotomist shortly after graduating college. At the time, I was juggling two part-time jobs while attending school full-time, driven by a strong desire to use my degree to genuinely help people and serve my community. That opportunity felt like a turning point: it wasn’t just a job, it was a chance to step into purpose.
Once I started working in the medical facility, I made a conscious decision to grow not only professionally, but as a person as a whole, both spiritually and physically. The environment was demanding, fast-paced, and emotionally intense. I learned quickly what it meant to show up consistently, even on the hardest days, and to lead with empathy while maintaining discipline. I pushed myself beyond what I thought I was capable of, always striving to bring positivity and reassurance to the donor community, no matter how long or difficult the day became.
My work ethic and commitment didn’t go unnoticed. Being promoted into a management role taught me invaluable lessons about leadership, accountability, and service. I learned that true leadership isn’t about authority, it’s about setting the example, supporting others, and staying grounded in integrity even under pressure. That experience reshaped my perspective on work, resilience, and human connection, and it continues to influence how I approach challenges, growth, and purpose in every area of my life today.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would say, “You can ask and you shall receive but you have to work hard for what you want. Pick and choose your battles and let go of things and habits that no longer serves you. Never let fear stop you, but excite you. Overcoming your fears will develop you indefinitely.”
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is a genuine reflection of who I truly am. It represents my values, my discipline, and the principles I choose to stand on every day. What people see is not a character or a performance, but the result of intentional growth and self-awareness.
That said, I recognize that the public version of myself is also shaped by the ego I consciously attach to the identity I choose to step into as I pursue my goals. It’s an extension of my beliefs and standards, not a mask. Behind that version is still a human being who is learning, evolving, and navigating life in real time. I allow myself the space to grow privately while sharing the parts of my journey that align with purpose, integrity, and authenticity.
In that sense, the public version of me isn’t separate from who I am it’s simply one layer of my truth, expressed with intention.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m solo hiking on a trail. There’s something grounding about being alone in nature with no noise, no expectations, just movementing and breathing. When you search for paradise and allow yourself to travel toward it, you often realize it’s already there.
It reminds me to slow down, stay present, and reconnect with myself beyond routines and responsibilities. That’s where I feel most aligned, most calm, and most like myself.
