An Inspired Chat with Queen Trina of Denver

Queen Trina shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Queen, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What I’m most proud of building—though it may not always be seen—is myself. Life has been a journey of resilience, growth, and constant evolution. From navigating hardships to raising a family, I’ve learned to turn challenges into stepping stones. This past year has been especially meaningful: I earned my bachelor’s degree, embraced a new city, and stepped boldly into the world of entrepreneurship, leaving the 9–5 behind. My proudest creation isn’t just the empire I’m building—it’s the strength, vision, and determination within me that made it all possible.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Katrina Obee, though most people know me as Trina—or simply The Queen. I’m the owner of The Right One LLC, where I manage multiple social media accounts across entertainment and media. I currently work with The Roof Entertainment, The Knock 303, and 303 Magazine, while also pursuing my passion for photography and content creation. What makes my journey unique is how I’ve taken years of sales and customer service experience and transformed it into a career built on creativity, strategy, and authentic connection. Every project I take on is about more than content—it’s about amplifying voices, telling stories, and building community, all while continuing to grow my own empire as The Queen.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Before I could see my own strength, my children did. They see a power in me that I hadn’t fully claimed, a force of resilience and love I didn’t yet know I possessed. My best friends never let me forget it, constantly reminding me of my brilliance and courage. And my aunt and uncle, who became my parents when life was chaotic, showed me unwavering love and guidance. Because of them, I began to see myself not just as I am, but as the strong, capable, and unstoppable woman they always believed I could be.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me lessons that success could never. It revealed my resilience in moments when I felt I had none, showed me the depth of my patience, and forced me to believe in myself when the world didn’t. Hardship strips away illusions and exposes the core of who you are—it’s where strength is forged, courage is born, and the kind of growth that success alone can’t inspire takes root. It’s in those struggles that I learned I could create my own empire, stand taller than my fears, and rise even stronger than before.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Those who know me best would say that what truly matters to me is my children and my family—their stability, their future, and the foundation I’m building for generations to come. They’d see my unwavering commitment to standing up for what’s right and what I believe in, and my determination to show up for those who need me, even on my toughest days. At my core, I live by love, loyalty, and resilience, creating not just a life for myself, but a lasting legacy.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as someone who loved without borders, who stood ten toes down for anyone in need, and who brought a standard of excellence and integrity to the industries and empire I was part of that couldn’t be ignored. I want my story to reflect a life lived fully, boldly, and with a commitment to leaving every space—and every person I touched—stronger than I found it.
