We recently had the chance to connect with Angela Fuller and have shared our conversation below.
Angela , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: When was the last time you felt true joy?
My greatest joy is being a mom to my two boys and moving my body in ways that once felt impossible, flipping, flying, dancing, and skiing. Every day is a gift.
After severe back injuries took movement from me for 14 years, I no longer take it for granted. Each day I am able to move pain free feels like a gift from God.
I live with deep gratitude, knowing I was given a second chance at life.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Angela Fuller, and I am a 45-year-old mom, competitive gymnast, American Ninja Warrior Season 15 competitor, fitness instructor, and inspirational speaker. After a car accident and severe back injuries took my athletic life away for 14 years, and time spent on disability, I was told my days as an athlete were over. God had other plans. I healed my back naturally through physical therapy, strength training, and nutrition. After 27 years away, I returned to the sport I loved as a child and made gymnastics history in 2025 by being the oldest gymnast to ever complete a National Omnithon, all 14 events in a single meet.
Today, my passion is helping women rediscover their sparkle through teaching group fitness and by sharing my story. I believe motherhood and midlife are not the end of our dreams, but the beginning of a new chapter where we get to chase them alongside our children. My foundation is rooted in choosing faith over fear, resilience, and the belief that it is never too late to start again.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I needed a trophy, a podium, or someone else’s approval to feel worthy. I chased validation and recognition, thinking that was the measure of my value. Today, I live by purpose over podium, knowing my worth comes from God and living with intention. When I honor Him by being authentic and true to myself, I no longer need anyone else’s approval. What others think does not define me, because my identity and value are rooted in His love.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
My defining wounds began when I had to leave gymnastics at 14 and later after a car accident and back injuries during my second pregnancy. I was told I would never be an athlete again.
For 27 years, I dreamed of one skill—gymnastics giants. That dream kept my faith alive and gave me hope. I healed through faith, dedication, and rebuilding my body step by step. Through that process, I realized I was not done, I was not broken, and I was born to fly.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that community and connection matter most to me. I believe women are stronger together and that empowering and supporting one another is essential. I am loyal, dependable, and committed to creating spaces where women can thrive, grow, and celebrate each other.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
For most of my life, I followed the path others expected of me, doing what I was told to do. Everything changed when my best friend was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. It was a wake-up call that tomorrow is not promised, and I realized I needed to fight for the dreams God placed in my heart. I was baptized, gave my life to Christ, and began living the life I was born to live. Today I flip, fly, and share my story to inspire others to pursue their dreams with faith and courage.
