Beezo, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: When was the last time you felt true joy?
When I took a solo camping trip to the Grand Canyon.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Better known as Beezo in the community I am the owner of AeroCraftsClothing. My brand AeroCraftsClothing is known for its airplane logo. The airplane relays the message of high life and is subliminal for staying high by any means! I created an Urban/Lifestyle brand that symbolizes staying uplifted and uplifting others through high frequency activities and community building. I developed this lifestyle from numerous life experiences and acknowledging my downtime as the reason I thrive to stay up no matter what life throws my way. This brand is the reason I’ve been able to keep going in life to give positivity to myself and spread this message around the world. I’m from a small neighborhood in New Orleans, La. We haven’t had a lot of opportunity or privileges being from the south. We’ve always had to grown with our adversaries and make something out of nothing. The road is always rough and if you haven’t dealt with struggles are set backs then I feel you actually haven’t experienced life. I’ve been through many battles building my brand and I will continue to experience mishaps. But the goal is to continue to uplift myself and my customers through this lifestyle brand. I’ve experienced things that I would love to speak about in person or a live interview in the near future.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When I started my business, I was living in New Orleans for my whole life. In Spring 2016 I took a train ride to California to promote my clothing brand and myself at the HighTimes Cannabis Cup. Before this my only time traveling was for Hurricane Katrina when we were forced to evacuate. I learned so much about the business in cannabis and how to market and promote my own business. In 2019 I decided to leave New Orleans for a different outlook on life in business. I moved to Smyrna, Georgia with my ex, who is also an artist and clothing brand owner. We spoke about moving to a different state with nature and legal cannabis. We searched for states to continue to pursue our business and the comfortability of a cannabis friendly environment. We both agree to Colorado but in 2020 my partner ended up changing their mind on the move. Mentally, I was already prepared for this, so when we separated, I still moved to Colorado. The difference in energy and nature that I experienced in this state has gave me a different outlook on life. My business expanding exponentially by moving to Colorado, and creating a new home for myself and my business. I started to get more immersed in the nature and the spirit of our planet, and this change the way I view, the world and all of our people in it.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
As an African-American man, starting from the bottom is normal and entrepreneurship is very hard to accomplish as a black man. Being from New Orleans, we’ve always lived in a self-sustaining environment with lack of resources for our communities. Living in a predominantly white area are always open to privilege and resources, but I have never experienced that being from the southern slave state. The suffering that my ancestors had to go through, in order to live amongst others to create keep and maintain their family business has taught me to never give up and always work hard with what you have. This is the true definition of turning suffering into success.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
The answer to this is probably coming together as a community and caring for our youth. My friends always brag about how much we do for other peoples children in our local community.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
As much as we would like to exist alone in this world, we are connected by our souls and spiritual beings on this planet. No matter how much you choose to isolate yourself to be alone you still have some form of connection with nature or another person on this planet. There’s no way that one can survive without the other than once we realize that we will learn to come together more than ever! As human beings, our ability to communicate and connect, has so much power created from collaboration.
