Check Out Addie Pecord’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Addie Pecord.

Hi Addie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always had a creative side to me and I knew from a young age I wanted to pursue a career in design. I moved to Los Angeles where I studied both fashion and interior design. When I graduated, I was hired by James Jeans as their petite denim designer. I later met my husband and that brought me back to my hometown in Colorado. Since there were not a lot of job opportunities in fashion, I switched focus and started my career in interior design with Slifer Designs. After several years working in the industry, I made the decision to start my own company. I founded LA Studio & Co. and operated out of my home office. After three years, I was presented with the opportunity to acquire a furniture store. I took the opportunity and expanded LA Studio & Co. and now have a home decor & design space in Edwards, Colorado. I am proud to have a beautiful space to provide both a retail experience to walk in clients, or help with the entire design project to bring a full vision to life.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are always bumps in the road. If there weren’t, it wouldn’t make success as rewarding. I encountered a few bumps along the way in regards to, building my own self confidence to make the leap, coordinating financing and learning a completely new retail system. Every struggle made moving forward that much more fulfilling and I wouldn’t have gone about it any other way.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I believe LA Studio & Co. offers several unique aspects that set us apart from similar business. We combine design, decor and creative crafts to create a space that feels fresh and comfortable and still has pieces that offer interest and character. Building LA Studio & Co. to where it is today is my proudest accomplishment so far in life. It took time, confidence, risk and so much more. I always loved the saying “no risk, no reward” and that is exactly how I felt when building and continuing to build my business. I put a lot on the line when opening our physical storefront and I could not be happier with the outcome. I hope I can be a positive influence to younger generations that have goals and aspirations and need the extra push to take their own risk to live out their dreams. It’s worth it.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I traveled to all 50 states before I graduated high school. From a young age my parents took us all over the country and that built my passion for traveling. I have since visited several countries and will continue to see as much of the world as possible.
