Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Sisneros.

Hi Amanda, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Amanda, I am a Colorado artist specializing in craft mixed media with an emphasis on calligraphy and painting. Originally from Granby in Grand County, Colorado, I have combined my familiarity with the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains with my passion for painting to develop the “beyond the maples” leaf painting series – a unique approach to mixed media custom artwork and design. I enjoy putting loving care and attention into each art piece.

I was inspired to create art at a young age when my Grandma introduced me to tole decorative painting, a style of artwork I continue today. I am married to my husband Tommy, who motivated me to take my unique artwork public, and together we have two beautiful children. I enjoy getting outdoors with my family to go leaf hunting for the leaf artwork series.

I later found a love for calligraphy in 2019 and continue my journey learning different scripts, developing my take on hand scripted mandala drawings.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I always loved art, but never really found my artist journey till now.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I love specializing in craft mixed media with an emphasis on calligraphy and painting. Everything I make is hand crafted.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I love the dedication I pour into each piece to make it unique.
I create my calligraphy pieces using Pointed pen calligraphy- a form of writing that uses a metal nib, and dipped ink. My Favorite script is Copperplate Calligraphy. The style of pen I use is called an Oblique pen.- Shown in photo.
