Check Out Amber McKnight’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber McKnight. 

Hi Amber, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born and raised in Colorado and come from a multicultural background. My mother is German and Cherokee and my father is Apache. I auditioned and was accepted to Denver School of the Arts at the age of eleven years old and studied design. This is where my passion really blossomed for fashion, makeup, and design. Over the years my passion has only grown and I have reached many milestones throughout the process. In my early twenties, I got married and had two beautiful boys all while attending college. By my mid-twenties I finished college and received my bachelor’s degree. During this time I became a single mother and solely provided for my children all while getting ready to start grad school. During this time I would be very active on my social media platforms with different fashion looks as well as makeup tutorials and becoming a brand ambassador. In the year 2019, I decided I was going to start a cosmetics line featuring all of my favorite makeup. During this planning process by chance, I met my current husband who has helped me tremendously throughout the process. In 2020 because of the lockdown, it gave me the push I needed to really focus on my brand and business and I launched Coriannslashes.com. I also picked up multiple brand collaborations as well. I became pregnant with my daughter at the end of 2020 and gave birth in 2021. As of 2022, I have several collaborations with online clothing boutiques and my online business is going strong. I was also offered to obtain a professional page for Facebook and now get paid to post on that platform. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey certainly has not been a smooth road. I have had to have several hip surgeries in my adolescence and ultimately had a hip replacement in 2020. I also have had many opportunities be declined because I put my children first. These were not things that stopped me, however, and I believe they made me that much stronger to handle where I am today. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I own a online cosmetic store and am a influencer. I am most proud of the brand I have built with my cosmetics line and myself. I wear all the makeup I sell and I make sure to do tutorials as well as reviews so my customers get the most realistic advice. I also make sure all of my followers are benefiting from my content in one form or another. 

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
My five-year goal is to create several physical outlets that my customers can purchase my products from as well as gain an insane amount of followers. By 35 I will be a millionaire.
