Today we’d like to introduce you to Andie Ramirez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey as a mom vlogger began about three years ago when I started to share my daily life on Tiktok. About a year later my husband and I decided to take a family road trip with our son; that’s when I started my YouTube channel. We wanted to document the experience for ourselves and our families and friends.
As we continued to travel and document our adventures, we noticed that our videos were resonating with other families who were looking for travel inspiration. We decided to focus my YouTube channel on creating content that would be useful and relatable for other parents who were traveling with young children.
Today, I am a full-time travel mom vlogger. I have long-form videos on YouTube and continue to share my day-to-day on other social media platforms. I am grateful to be able to share my experiences and tips with other families who are planning their adventures. My main goal is to inspire other families to travel more and to make it accessible and enjoyable for them, especially when they have young children.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
While being a travel mom vlogger has been an incredibly rewarding experience, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest struggles I’ve faced has been balancing my vlogging with my responsibilities as a mother and a wife. It can be challenging to find the time and energy to create content while also taking care of my son and managing our household.
Another struggle has been the financial aspect of vlogging. Starting a YouTube channel does not bring in money immediately and it can take a lot of time and effort to grow a following and monetize the channel. It can be difficult to make a living as a vlogger, especially when you are starting.
Additionally, creating content and filming while traveling with young children, who are unpredictable and have their own needs, can be challenging. It can be difficult to find the right balance between capturing the perfect shot and enjoying the moment with my family. Despite these struggles, I have learned to adapt and find ways to make it work. I have a routine that helps me manage my time effectively, and I make sure to prioritize my family over my work.
I also make sure to be open and transparent with my followers about my struggles, in the hopes that it will help others who may be facing similar challenges. Overall, being a travel mom vlogger has been an amazing journey, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The struggles I’ve faced have only made me stronger, and I look forward to continuing to share my family’s adventures with my followers for many years to come.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a travel mom vlogger, my main focus is on creating content that is relatable and useful for other families who are traveling with young children. I am known for providing honest reviews of places I visit. I also share tips and tricks for traveling with young children, such as how to pack efficiently and how to entertain kids on long car rides.
I am most proud of the community that I have built on Tiktok. I love connecting with other families who are planning their adventures and hearing about their experiences. I am also proud to have been able to inspire other families to travel more and to make it accessible and enjoyable for them, specifically when traveling with young children.
What sets me apart from others is that I am a mother first and foremost and human. My Tiktok account is more like a video from a diary of my life. Because I understand the needs and concerns of other parents who are traveling with young children, I can provide a unique perspective and insight that is tailored to families.
Additionally, I am very transparent and open about my struggles and my journey as a mom, which I believe helps other people who may be facing similar challenges. Overall, my main goal is to inspire and help other families not only travel more but build a community of supportive moms. I am excited to continue creating content and sharing our family’s adventures for many more years to come.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
Here are a few resources that have been particularly helpful in my work. The first is my notes app. I don’t use fancy planners or apps to plan out posts; I prefer jotting down my thoughts at the moment. Once I have downtime, I plan my content, organize my day, and keep track of important dates and deadlines with my notes on the go. It’s what helps me stay on top of everything and make sure that I am not forgetting anything important!
In terms of apps, I rely on CapCut for all my video editing and if needed Picsart for photos. Otherwise, most of my work is done inside the Tiktok app where I share my content and connect with my audience daily. Most importantly I follow every travel mom account I come across! I enjoy connecting with the moms and several of those have blossomed into in-person friendships that I am so grateful for.
Following creators with similar content also allows me to stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in the travel and vlogging industry. Some of my favorite blogs/accounts are @whereisbriggs, @thestayoutsidemama, @learnersandmakers & @super-hiking_twins.
