Check Out Andrew Perkett’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Perkett.

Andrew Perkett

Hi Andrew, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After college, I began my career in churches and the nonprofit space. After about five years, my wife and I wanted to transition out and find a way that we could still help people while better providing for our family. Our big question was, “How can we provide for our family, and have the freedom to do what we’re passionate about and help people at no cost to them?” We soon learned how to invest and dove deep into the world of entrepreneurship.

Before long, we learned how to invest in properties, I attained my real estate license to help individuals learn how to invest, and also decided to start a business. I had incredible opportunities to educate individuals on how to get into a home and move from tenant to owner. We then started our business COS Hauling LLC, a junk and trash removal company based in Colorado Springs.

While we work extremely hard to grow these businesses, it’s already allowed opportunities to do what we’re both passionate about, which for me is: public speaking, coaching football, and coaching young professionals right here in Colorado. I am thankful for the opportunity to be able to help people personally, and professionally. Everything we do carries purpose, and my goal is to purposefully succeed at every opportunity I have!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely has not been a smooth road to get here. There have been tremendous learning curves in a very short amount of time. Multiple people warned us of the “statistics” behind starting a business, investing, etc.

After thought and prayer, my wife and I determined that we didn’t want to be a victim to the numbers but to be the reason we fell on the right side of them. This meant a lot of hard work in our future, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Obviously, one challenge is the reality of the likelihood of your business surviving, so we knew that would require lots of hard work.

Another challenge is learning a life balance. It was important for us, in the middle of speaking, coaching, and running two businesses, that we needed time in the mountains, with friends, and with family. It calls for a lot of intentionality and communication which we have learned is possible!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I mostly pride myself on being active in many different opportunities. Real estate, business owner at COS Hauling LLC, public speaker, and coach. These all organically developed through my own experiences and encountering various opportunities that life had to offer. I like to believe that, above all else, I’m known for my love for people.

Whether it’s our businesses, or in day-to-day life, everything centers around one thing, which is also the mission statement for our hauling company: We aim to leave our world better than when we arrived. I mean it when I say, that my decision is based on the impact they will have on the people around me. The hauling business takes a unique, relational approach to bettering individuals’ lives.

Real estate is an opportunity to educate people on the financial benefits of owning a home. All public speaking sessions are centered around bettering yourself and your life. Coaching, while maybe not always obvious, is about moving individuals down a structured path to success and helping people see greatness in themselves. This is what I’m most proud of is seeing how, not just me, but my family has been able to be a light for people in our community.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I grew up in Colorado Springs and spent a lot of time between here and Denver. In the Springs, I love the small town feel that it maintains and the close access to the mountains as my wife and I are constantly camping! I love trekking to Denver for sports. As a football coach, I love football and most other sports as well. We’re regularly in Denver for concerts, festivals, and sporting events!
