Today we’d like to introduce you to Audra Iori.
Audra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In the early 2000s, I was laid off from my corporate job in Chicago of 14 years as part of a company-wide layoff. With my only son at home at the age of three, it was time to re-assess my next steps.
Going back to the 9-5 grind was no longer going to be an option — sitting in an office day after day, traveling three hours to and from the job, and exhausted for my family by the time I got home. It was then that I decided to go into business for myself and started my career as a Mortgage Consultant. The idea of not only working for myself, but also having the opportunity to help newcomers explore the idea of owning a home was extremely appealing to me. With the encouragement and help of a childhood friend, I plunged right in giving it my all, with no guarantee of a steady income or what the future may bring.
So here we are…. 22 years later, and I’m happy to say I’m still here — loving what I do, the people I have been able to help, and the flexibility it has afforded me over the years! In 2020, my family was finally able to make our move to Colorado, where we are not only loving the mountain life but the friends we’ve been blessed to meet and the community we are proud to call “HOME”!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Anyone who has spent time in the real estate and/or mortgage industry for more than a few years can attest to one thing — if you’re not resilient, committed to what you do, and willing and capable of re-inventing yourself in this ever-changing market, you’re out! I think that change makes us all stronger if you’re willing to stick to your core values and treat people with kindness and respect along the way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
With over 22 years in the mortgage industry, I take great pride in providing the very best experience to every one of my customers. I believe in open communication, building trust, and giving back to the community. This applies to most everything in life; and I strive to live and breathe those values in my personal and professional lives.
I love working with first-time home buyers and showing them that “yes” they can do this — you can achieve your dream of owning a home and creating those memories for your family; and, here’s how we’re going to make that happen TOGETHER!
I also specialize in Renovation Financing, which allows you to roll the cost of home repairs and improvements right into your home loan. What a great solution vs. the other alternatives, including draining your savings to fund that renovation project or charging the project on high-interest credit cards. A lot of people aren’t aware this is even an option which is why getting the word out and educating people is so important.
Finally, as a lender affiliate of the Homes for Heroes program (www.homesforheroes.com), and the #1 ranked Military Friendly brand in the country in 2023, Caliber Home Loans (part of the NewRez family of companies) is proud to salute our local heroes (military, veterans, law enforcement, firefighters, medical professionals, and educators), giving back to those who serve our nation and community when buying or refinancing a home.
