Check Out Austin Witt’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Witt.

Hi Austin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thanks for interviewing me! Excited to chat. To let people know, FITTWAVE Health and Physique Coaching was inspired from two things in my life that didn’t make sense on paper: my gut and my brain.

IBS showed up early in my life. Random flare-ups, food anxiety, days where training and work took a back seat because digestion was running the show. ADHD came with its own chaos — hyperfocus one week, zero focus the next, all-or-nothing routines, then burnout. From the outside, it just looked like pain and frustration. From the inside, it was exhausting. Lab work came back relatively normal and my doctor was confused.

In 2012, a coach changed my life. He took me aside and saw I was more than just my pre-conditions. I had potential. He saw me for who I was. He pushed myself and my teammates. However, at the time strength coaching in high school athletics was rare. He was not your traditional sports coach. Why do I say that? Because strength coaches are the one who is in the trenches with the athletes. I took a college training and nutrition class while in high school and I learned basic nutrition, exercise, along with what to avoid in the fitness industry. The fitness industry exemplifies and struggles to give specialized education. There is a significant amount of misinformation and data.

So, after high school I stopped forcing systems that weren’t built for me. I started collecting data for my doctor, my coach, and my family. Next, I pursued my education by getting a Master’s in Science and working for several healthcare teams.

I learned in cardiac rehab how life stress drives gut symptoms and accelerates pre-existing genetic conditions. How under-fueling and aggressive dieting wreck digestion. How ADHD brains don’t need more motivation — they need fewer decisions, clearer structure, and data with clear feedback. Training became flexible. Nutrition became modular instead of rigid. Tracking shifted from perfection to patterns.

That changed everything. For the last 10 years IBS became manageable instead of mysterious. My ADHD stopped being a liability and started becoming a strength. And my coaching philosophy sharpened fast: if the plan doesn’t respect your physiology and psychology, it’s a bad plan. Now I coach with those realities of high performers front and center. We build systems that work on low-energy days. We adjust food quality, timing, and volume to calm the gut — not inflame it. We use accountability and data to quiet the mental noise. No shame, no white-knuckling.

A lot of the people who find Fittwave don’t just want fat loss — they want relief. From brain fog. From digestive stress. From feeling like they’re “bad at discipline.” They’re not. They were just using the wrong playbook.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Great question! Our biggest obstacle to growth has been the initial perception of virtual coaching. From 2017 to 2020, many individuals believed that in-person coaching was superior. It wasn’t until the pandemic in 2020 that we saw a significant shift towards virtual coaching. This transition allowed us to offer workouts at home and foster connections through platforms like Zoom and Google Meet, which became vital in supporting many individuals through telehealth services.

As the pandemic eased, we invested in upgrading our technology and developing a leading platform for physique and health-based coaching. We are actively expanding our client base while ensuring that our health coaches are fairly compensated for their expertise and contributions. Our growth strategy focuses on providing customized coaching that distinguishes us in an industry often plagued by generic recommendations. We leverage artificial intelligence to create faster and more effective solutions tailored to each client’s specific health needs.

Additionally, we recognized the impact of isolation on mental health among our clients, friends, and family during the pandemic. To address this, we developed a hybrid program that includes both in-person events locally in Colorado and internationally, facilitating connections among individuals committed to enhancing their health. This approach not only fosters community but also encourages sustained engagement, which is crucial for our growth.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In regard to my specialties there are a few but I’ll let you in on what I am most proud of. My specialties live at the intersection of physiology, psychology, and real life.

First — As a coach I focus on data driven sustainable fat loss for busy high performing adults in their mid twenties to their fifties. I work with people who are smart, driven, and exhausted. They work high performing jobs, deal with stress, and travel. The goal isn’t rapid loss that rebounds — it’s losing 10–20 pounds in a way that actually sticks. We track what matters, adjust in real time, and build habits that survive bad weeks, not just perfect ones.

Second — At FITTWAVE we use accountability systems, not motivation. Most people don’t fail because they don’t “want it” enough. They fail because the plan relies on willpower. I specialize in building structure: check-ins, data, simple targets, and community support so progress happens even when motivation is low.

Third — gut-aware nutrition and training. IBS changes the game. So does chronic stress. I help clients dial in food quality, timing, fiber, carbs, sodium, and hydration in a way that supports digestion and performance — without cutting everything fun out of their diet or living in fear of food.

Fourth — ADHD-friendly coaching in specialized clients. Clear expectations. Fewer decisions. Fast feedback. Flexible structure. We design training and nutrition systems that work with attention variability instead of fighting it — so consistency becomes easier, not harder.

Fifth — Physique Athletes who possess strength, confidence, and body recomposition. With a master’s in exercise physiology, OCB pro status, and judging experience, I know how to build physiques — but more importantly, I know how to do it without wrecking your hormones, gut, or mental health.

At the core of everything is one belief: nobody should have to do this alone. My specialty isn’t just programs — it’s helping people feel in control of their body again and confident they can keep the results.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Colorado Springs changed the way movement feels to me.

Here, trails aren’t something you plan weeks in advance — they’re just there. Five minutes from home and you’re climbing, breathing, thinking, resetting. No gym mirrors. No noise. Just effort, rhythm, and space. That access makes movement feel natural instead of forced, which matters when your brain doesn’t always love structure and your body needs stress to go down, not up.

The trails give me something lifting never could on its own — nervous system relief. Long walks calm my nervous system. Steady bike rides and mountain biking climbs quiet the mental static. Sunlight, elevation, and being outside turn movement into regulation instead of another box to check.

I also love how honest trail work is. You can’t rush it. You can’t ego-lift a hill. You meet yourself where you’re at that day and move anyway. That mindset shows up in how I coach — progress over perfection, consistency over intensity, systems that fit real life.

Colorado Springs gives me daily access to that reset. And when movement feels like freedom instead of punishment, everything else — training, nutrition, discipline — gets easier to sustain.
