Ayesha Gay

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m Ayesha Gay, a “cosmebarbetician” and graduate of Northeastern Beauty School in Sterling, CO. My salon, Shear Savvy Studio, blends cosmetology, barbering, and esthetics to serve a diverse clientele. I was raised in East Denver by parents who were both chefs. And while I’ve charted my own path in the beauty industry, I’ve drawn inspiration from their culinary legacy in my hair care line, Savvy Healing which uses personally crafted natural
ingredients to address hair loss in my customers.. Lupus In 2014. while living in El Paso, Texas, I started experiencing mysterious symptoms such as nausea vomiting and hair loss. I lost over 52 pounds in 2 weeks and returned to Denver where I was Diagnosed with Lupus A autoimmune disorder that attacks the body’s tissues and organs. Managing condition entails undergoing regular infusions which can span 2 to 8 hours easch session.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the symptoms of the disease and a side effect of treatment is hair loss. Hair loss, for
both genetic and environmental reasons, is not
uncommon. By the age of 50, 40% of women
will encounter hair loss, while approximately 4
out of 5 men will experience some degree of
baldness by age 70.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I launched Esha’s Hair Care almost a decade ago and have since sold thousands of bottles of product and netted over $30,000 in
profit. In 2024, I’m taking the next step in my career, launching
my own salon, Shear Savvy Studio which caters to male clientele
and relaunching my product under the new brand name, Savvy Healing.
Also Started a barbershop called Shear ‘Savvy Studio. I service a range of people everywhere.
