Check Out Brett Allan’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brett Allan.

Hi Brett, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my podcast, entertainment show back in 2017 as a “journey” show as it was once called, to essentially record my story as I walked through my divorce and learned what it would take to heal, parent my son as a co-parent and live life again as we all began to heal. I discovered podcasting via an add on Facebook, downloaded an app and began right on my phone! As time continued, it slowly evolved into what it is today! A nationally recognized source for film and television reviews, the latest in entertainment and more. I will always credit my son for motivating me and allowing me to create a legacy for him to look back on one day. Although it has changed dramatically, it is still a source of therapy in a way to meet people all over the world and talk to some amazing people!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road at all! When you are a creative person, you are always struggling with idea of wanting to make things better. You are never really fully satisfied the entire way. You are constantly comparing yourself to others around you that are experiencing more success, getting the opportunities you want and don’t get and it is an endless cycle. Not to mention you are trying to manage a successful co-parenting relationship and provide for your child at the same time. When I began this journey, I have always had my son Jared in mind to create a legacy for him to remember me by.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am in sales full time and that is my day job. But if I am being truthful, podcasting, creating, and even stand-up comedy as of late have been what truly drives me as a person. At the core of it, is my son Jared. He is a mini version of me and he is my world. His mother and I have done the very best to create a perfect world for him I credit her for the majority of his successes. I try my best but she is a rock-star. To narrow it down to podcasting, I am know for booking and interviewing some of the biggest names in pop=culture. From John Malkovich, to Fraggles of Fraggle Rock. It all kicked off over the pandemic, everyone was at home. Haha.

I think what sets me apart is the fact I keep going, even though I make very little money, I enjoying meeting new people every day.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think when you choose to do anything creative, it’s always a risk. You are putting yourself out there for the world to see and to judge. But that is life really. I think if your willing to take risk, it makes life much more interesting. I am not a risk-taker by nature, but I do it because if not, life get’s pretty stale.
