Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Bartlett. 

Hi Brianna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a child and young adult, I found solace in baking. I loved being in the kitchen with my mother throughout the holidays and before parties, preparing treats that would make people around us smile. In growing up and building a life and career outside of baking, I always focused on making those around me happy and fulfilled. But I couldn’t shake the thought that those recipes could be shared with more people around the world. 

We opened our proverbial doors during the pandemic, focusing on charitable donation and aiding those in need in the wake of COVID-19, at the overwhelming request of those in our lives who could not get enough of my family’s recipes. We were proud to support our community and those who really needed a smile in those dark times. 

Secret Recipe Company is a passion project built to continue the traditions of the past as well as creating a better future. We see the pairing as a necessity for a sweet and happy life. Our goal is to bring traditional and typical recipes to new light, allowing them to touch and change the lives of those around us today. 

While we are a young company, we are excited to be taking on this opportunity here in Denver where the market is so willing to support small business, women-owned business, and the cottage foods industry! With the launch of our website, SecretRecipeCompany.com, in September of this year, we hope to continue to share our secrets with more of the country and the world! 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Secret Recipe Company is built off the traditions of the past, with the goal of positively impacting the future. While we have absolutely seen struggle in the first year of business, we do not wish to highlight our own struggles but that of those who need it! 

Built from a charitable start and always aiming to continue supporting our community, Secret Recipe Company would rather highlight the impact we can continue to make on causes throughout the world with our recipes. At this moment we are honored to have a Pride Sugar Cookie which supports the Trevor Project, a Painkiller Cookie which supports the Unite BVI Foundation, and our Gingerbread Holiday Cookies which will support the Soldiers’ Angels Foundation this Christmas. 

We are always looking for new communities to support through their struggles and ways to give back, which is much more important than our personal struggles! 

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
It might come as quite a shock but while I run Secret Recipe Company, I also have held a lifelong passion for therapy. I have been honored to work with families throughout Colorado and beyond, supporting healthy behavior patterns and helping individuals and families face and overcome their hardships. As a Behavior Therapist, my goal is always to maintain a positive environment and spend my time working on the happiness and health of others. 

It is the same here at Secret Recipe Company! We absolutely love to put smiles on the faces of our customers and friends, and to impact you in the most positive way possible! 

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Throughout our journey, we have learned that passion for your craft is one of the most important things you can have as a small business owner. You must love what you do, what you create, and what you are putting out into the world for it to be not only effective but truly YOU. 

Our cookies are created from family recipes passed down through the generations of my family, giving them the same heart and soul I grew up with. When I look at my recipes and share them with you, I am giving you a piece of not only myself but many generations of my family and the traditions of the past which is one of my favorite parts of this company!
