Check Out Carol Powers’ Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carol Powers.

Hi Carol, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Having grown up in Boulder, I fell in love with the area a long time ago. From the unique and creative people and ever-changing landscapes to the excellent schools, active outdoor lifestyle, and world-class restaurants, Colorado has it all! I graduated from the University of Colorado with a dual degree in Marketing and Real Estate and went on to get an MBA from SMU in Dallas, Texas. Before becoming a realtor, I ran a successful employee benefits consulting firm. I am a results-driven professional who brings twenty-five years of corporate marketing, client service, and account management to my real estate career. I am a keen negotiator and have a passion for providing exceptional customer service to my clients.

I got into real estate in 2019 after having lunch with a close high-school friend who said that he and his partner wanted to grow their team and would love to have someone with my experience join them. I jumped on the opportunity, took classes and got my real estate license. Shortly after that, I began working with the Colorado Luxury Group at Coldwell Banker and I haven’t looked back since! My first year, I sold over $6 million and won “Rookie of the Year” award in my office. Since that time, I have continued to grow my production. Each year, our team sells about $50million in real estate and are recognized among the President’s Elite of Coldwell Banker agents worldwide.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two daughters, and my dog. My hobbies include hiking, skiing, yoga, cycling, and meditation. I am also involved in several non-profit organizations that serve our local community.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It really has been a pretty smooth but fast road. The only struggle I had was the speed of the market during the pandemic. Properties were going under contract so quickly that agents had to be flexible, work hard and act fast to succeed. During those years, I got really good at writing offers and would often do that in less than a half an hour! I once represented some buyers and together, we beat out 26 other offers to successfully get their dream home under contract.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love that real estate is a personal business. I am always so honored and humbled by the trust that my clients place in me and I work hard to keep that trust. It’s not about the trophies, awards, total sales or statistics. Whether it’s taking late night calls, working on the weekends, bringing fresh flowers to a photo shoot, shoveling a sidewalk or something else, I will do what I can to make a stressful situation as easy as I can for my clients. Homes are deeply personal and being invited to be part of my client’s story will always be my biggest win!

How do you think about luck?
I don’t think luck has much to do with it. I live my life with positivity and purpose. I treat others with courtesy, compassion and respect and I find that deeply fulfilling because clients treat me the same way. Whether I represent buyers or sellers, I know we will be spending a great deal of time together and it is important to have that mutual respect and enjoy the journey. I am fortunate to have become good friends with so many of my clients. They invite me to their birthday celebrations, baby showers, weddings and other life events and they refer their friends and family to me because they know I will take good care of them.
