Check Out Carolyn McEntee’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolyn McEntee

Hi Carolyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my career in software sales after completing a business degree, but my mom’s dedication as a nurse inspired me to shift paths in my twenties. After transitioning into healthcare, I spent a decade in bone marrow transplant, where I had the privilege of providing stem cell transplants to blood cancer patients. It was deeply meaningful work, with highs and lows that shaped my approach to patient care and resilience.

My interest in combining science with entrepreneurship led me to aesthetics, where I found my passion as a nurse injector. I committed myself to learning everything I could as quickly as possible, and before long, I was managing a team of eight injector nurses. This experience led to further opportunities, with a Scottsdale-based company recruiting me to open a med spa chain in Denver, followed by a role launching a large California chain in Denver’s Tech Center.

Today, I work with double board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Keith Ladner, specializing in face and neck surgery, with offices in both Beverly Hills and Greenwood Village. Our Denver Tech Center office provides in-house surgery, and here, I also oversee introductory training courses for nurses eager to step into aesthetics, blending the science of injectables with business skills. My passion for patient care still drives me, and I continue to take on new clients. I’m committed to empowering nurses and women to own their careers and find fulfillment in aesthetics, just as I have.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has been far from smooth. As a new nurse, I faced countless obstacles. Inpatient nursing is incredibly demanding. During my first few years, I worked 12-hour night shifts and confronted the harsh reality of death more often than I anticipated.

I wasn’t sure I was fully prepared for the challenges ahead, and there were days when I felt like quitting. But with significant student loan debt, that wasn’t an option. My paycheck barely covered my rent in Denver, my car payment, and my loans. Despite this, my strong work ethic drove me to seek a side hustle to make ends meat. I wanted to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives and look forward to going to work each day, while also providing for myself.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a master aesthetic nurse injector, I combine my passion for both science and art to enhance each unique face I encounter. I strive for results that are natural and balanced, dedicated to boosting my patients’ confidence. My expertise lies in facial balancing using fillers and PDO barbed thread lifts. I’ve been fortunate to train under some of the world’s leading doctors, including Dr. Fezza, Dr. Sherman, Dr. Yoelin, and our own double board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Keith Ladner.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Denver’s weather is truly incredible, but “shhh, let’s keep it a secret!” I moved here for the blue skies, stunning mountains, and endless outdoor activities. After 17 years, I do find the traffic frustrating—especially since it was so affordable and traffic-free when I first arrived! Weekends on I-70 in winter feel like my personal nightmare. Despite that, Denver remains my home, and I can’t imagine ever truly leaving.
