Check Out Carter Stark’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carter Stark

Hi Carter, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve have only ever been passionate about writing songs and playing them with my closest friends. There has been no other goal in my life that has been mediated and prayed on more. There have been a handful of bands over the years, but the same heart and focus remains to this day. Clone the Wolf is the current chapter of this pursuit. This humble project will have a 2 year anniversary this July; 7/15/2025to be exact. These past 16 months have been a blast. More than playing shows and writing songs we have been emersed in the Denver Punk Rock scene meeting amazing people and other talented bands. This has been the reward for me, I did not grow up in a place with a lovely scene like Denver. I love this city and thankful for every tattooed vapester I have met along the way.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
YouTube and social media culture value untalented cover song “Artists” ha. Its the most cringe thing ever.
Individuality is preached continually on these platforms, but that deception has rendered nothing but recycled meaningless songs and success based on attractiveness and willingness to nickel dime ones self worth at every turn. High school never ends! The earth is overrun with people following trends for fame and exposure with no true identity. Running about like stray dogs following whatever stench that might lead to the next meal.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I write love songs. I write poetry. Clone the Wolf is “Punk Rock for Lovers”.
I have had great struggle with depression and self-worth throughout my life.
Songwriting is therapy for me. I can remove those things from my mind in the form of a song.
It still exists, but it now lays at rest in tangible form outside of my mind and body leaving a vacancy for joy, love and laughter to take root between my ears.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I think the role of luck greatly depends on what the fruition of the goal is.

There is no short cut for hard work and the 10,000 hours it takes to master any craft.
In the midst of that process you might meet the right person or be in the right place at the right time.
You don’t need luck to express yourself. Through the forging of the artform you get to know yourself in a deeper way; helping one empathize with other earthlings here.
