Entrepreneurship is My Passion

I’ve always had a strong passion for entreprenuership. As a kid, I was always finding ways to make money—washing cars, selling candy, and figuring out how to turn ideas into cash. I didn’t realize it back then, but those little hustles were teaching me some big lessons about creativity, persistence, and making my own opportunities.

The Birth of Ruth & Mae’s

Fast forward to 2011, I decided to take my love for natural hair care and turn it into something real. That’s when I created Peppermint Kiss—a handcrafted, all-natural blend designed to nourish and revive hair. I started selling it online, and before I knew it, people were loving it. That’s when I realized there was a real demand for high-quality, chemical-free products made with love and intention.

By 2014, I had expanded my product line and knew it was time for something bigger. That’s when Ruth & Mae’s Natural Products LLC was born—a brand focused on creating clean, effective, and earth-friendly products for people who actually care about what they’re putting on their hair and skin. And we’re still growing, making sure more people have access to natural products that actually work.

Growing the Vision

But if there’s one thing about me, it’s that I’m always thinking bigger. I didn’t just want to stop at natural products—I wanted to create something that reflected my love for art, self-expression, and positive energy. That’s how Cosmic Vibes Prints came to life. It’s not just an online shop; it’s a space where fashion, creativity, and spirituality come together. From high-vibrational home decor to bold apparel, it’s all about self-expression and good energy.

Stepping Into Something New

And because I’m always open to new opportunities, I recently joined the cast of Preschool Cypher, a preschool children’s show centered around hip-hop. It’s been such a fun experience, combining music, education, and culture in a way that speaks to kids in a fresh and exciting way.

Manifesting Dreams

In addition to all of this, I am a mindset coach. I teach others how to control their thoughts so that they can live the life of their dreams. I have my Manifesting Bubble Podcast available on all platforms, where I dive deep into topics of manifestation, mindset, and success. I also share insights and teachings on my YouTube channel, where I guide you to visualize and manifest the dream life you deserve through guided visualizations and motivational talks.

At the end of the day, entrepreneurship isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. I love creating, building, and inspiring others to go after their own dreams. Whether it’s through business, art, or something completely unexpected, I’m here to make an impact in my own way.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My entrepreneurial journey has been anything but smooth. There have been moments of frustration—creative blocks that left me feeling stuck, slow sales that made me question my path, and the constant challenge of mastering marketing and growth. There were times when I had to pivot, rethink my strategies, and push through uncertainty. But every setback has been a lesson in resilience, creativity, and perseverance. Each challenge has forced me to step outside my comfort zone, explore new ideas, and refine my approach. Entrepreneurship is a journey of constant evolution, and while the road hasn’t always been easy, every twist and turn has shaped me into the businesswoman I am today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Besides being a fourth grade teacher in Aurora, I am an entrepreneur, coach, and creator. I specialize in mindset and manifestation coaching, helping people turn their dreams into reality through the power of belief, strategy, and aligned action. I’m also the founder of Cosmic Vibes Prints, an e-commerce brand offering unique home decor, apparel, and more, and the CEO of Ruth & Mae’s Natural Products LLC, where I create high-quality natural hair and skincare products.

Beyond that, I teach young entrepreneurs how to start their own businesses, run an online course on building a profitable product line, and have authored books, including kids’ activity books and personal journals.

I am most proud that I have never set limits on myself. When people would tell me to focus only on one thing, my creative brain just wouldn’t let me. I am grateful that I listened to my heart and I continued to create any and all things that inspire me. I’m sure this is only the beginning I have alot more accomplish in this life.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I’ve learned that life is unpredictable and can change in an instant. When the world shut down in 2020, it was a scary time for all of us. But if there was one thing that experience taught me, it was to always be ready for anything. It made me realize how important it is to build something solid—something that can stand no matter what happens.

That’s why I’ve been more focused than ever on growing my empire. I never want to be in a position where I’m left out in the cold, waiting for things to get better. I want to create my own opportunities, take control of my future, and keep leveling up, no matter what’s going on around me.

The truth is, success isn’t about things always going smoothly—it’s about pushing forward even when they don’t. It’s about learning, adapting, and staying committed to the vision. No matter what challenges come my way, I know one thing for sure: I’ll keep going, keep growing, and keep rising.
