Check Out Chris Hamilton’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Hamilton.

Hi Chris, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Tattooing for 32 years. Started my apprenticeship in 1993 in Fort Myers Florida and worked in that shop for 20 years. Moved to CO in 2013 and started working at Fallen Owl and have been there since.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The industry is very different from when I started. It’s far easier to be a tattooer now. Being tattooed is no longer taboo, it’s widely accepted. And finding references for artwork is at the click of a mouse.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I do a lot of Japanese inspired work, as well as black and gray animals and landscapes. And Im not opposed to doing many other styles. I was taught to be a well rounded artist. I think thats what sets me apart from a lot of other tattooers nowadays. As mainstream as it is to be tattooed now, if an artist can do one style they can potentially make a living.
