Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Wright

Chris, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I originally hail from Rhode Island and served as a Tank Crewman in the Army for 10 years. After my service, I found my passion in photography, and I’m now based in Centennial, Colorado. My specialty is automotive photography, but I’m always eager to expand my skill set. Recently, I’ve been branching out into portrait work with individuals and couples. Over the past few years, I’ve been actively growing my business, Wright Angle Photography, through platforms like Instagram, attending car events, and relying on word of mouth. My goal is to bring a unique perspective to every shot and tell compelling stories through my lens. In addition to my photography, I’m also building a 2020 BMW 330ix show car, which has become a personal project that merges my love for cars with my creative vision.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Recently, one of the biggest hurdles I faced was an injury I sustained earlier this year, which significantly limited my availability. This setback made it challenging to stay as active in my business as I would have liked. Additionally, I’ve found that I’m not a natural salesperson, which has been another limitation. However, I believe that the quality of my work speaks for itself, and I’ve been able to rely on that to attract clients and grow my business despite these challenges.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work is centered around automotive photography, where I strive to capture the essence and personality of each vehicle I shoot. I specialize in creating dynamic and visually compelling images that highlight the unique features of cars, whether at car meets, events, or private shoots. I’m known for my attention to detail and my ability to tell a story through each photo, making the cars feel alive and full of character.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the reputation I’ve built within the local car community. My photos have become recognizable, and I’ve earned the trust of many car enthusiasts who appreciate my work. Recently, I was a semi-finalist in the Vehicle Vault photo contest, where I tied for 2nd place with two different images. This achievement was particularly rewarding as it showcased the versatility and quality of my work.

What sets me apart is my dedication to understanding not just the technical aspects of photography, but also the passion and pride that car owners have for their vehicles. I bring that same passion to every shoot, aiming to deliver images that exceed expectations. In addition to my automotive work, I’m proud of my recent ventures into portrait photography. While it’s a different challenge, it’s helping me expand my creative toolkit and grow as a photographer. Ultimately, what sets me apart is my commitment to continuous improvement and my drive to capture not just images, but emotions and stories.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is from when I used to film my friends skateboarding around our hometown. We’d spend hours at the local skate park or just cruising through the streets, and I was always the one with a camera in hand, capturing every trick and wipeout. I loved experimenting with angles and trying to get the perfect shot, even though I had no idea at the time that it would eventually lead me to a passion for photography. Those days were all about fun and creativity, and looking back, it’s clear that my love for capturing moments started long before I even realized it.
