Check Out Christian Brannon’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Brannon. 

Hi Christian, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Christian Brannon. I’m originally from Biloxi Mississippi but move to Colorado in 2011. I run a music distro/booking agency called Prolapsed Head. It started back in 2018 out of my apartment. Was mainly just just distro’ing stuff from bands I like and local bands my homies play in, then I started booking my own shows so I could see the bands I wanted to see and at the same time help the touring bands out and put my bands on some cool shows. I did a zine where I interviewed a bunch of death metal bands from around the world and featured a lot of really sick artists from all over too. Was good promotion for everybody. These days we don’t really distro too much music and are just really focused on booking shows/tours. I do plan on doing another magazine at some point tho. I have also added someone to the team to help me run this, my good friend Landon Burch. It has been just me this entire time up until now. Other than that stuff I tattoo at dead drift tattoo and play in 2 bands. Phthisis (death metal) and Violent Impulse (hardcore punk). 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was smooth for the most part up until covid, that def was a big blow that kinda made me not wanna distro music anymore. Wasn’t able to book or play shows either but it’s getting back to normal now. 

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Besides running Prolapsed Head, I play in a death metal band called Phthisis and I Also play in a hardcore punk band called violent impulse. I do vocals in both. I am also an apprentice tattooed at Dead Drift Tattoo in Denver, so I guess you could say all of that is what I’m most known for and I’m very proud of all of it. 

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Have patience and keep a level head. Don’t let what other people are portraying their lives to be on social media get to you or compare you rate of success or growth to theirs and just keep doing you. It’ll pay off if your heart is really in it.
