Check Out Daniele Danae’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniele Danae.

Hi Daniele, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a native of Denver. My mother started in the flower business in 1985. As was seen as a staple in the community. My sisters and I grew up working in her store, and we all got our entrepreneurial side from her.

In Nov of 2018, our mother passed away after a long battle with cancer. And we closed the shop. During the pandemic, and the lockdown I was drawn back toward the flower business, as I saw it as a way to spread love and joy to others when we are not able to be together.

In Dec of 2021, I was doing of one my best friend’s wedding flowers and I realized, I really do enjoy the flower business. So, I took the leap of faith and decided to re-open the flower shop. That best friend’s wedding, Gabriella LaBarbara, is now my business partner. We have had great support from the community and we are excited to see what’s to come.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been several struggles and ups and downs. Sourcing products have had challenges with availability and delivery delays. Price increases have made it much more challenging as a small business owner.

Being that we have been the community florist for over 30 years, we have had great support and response from the community which has been super positive

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I see flowers as both self-expression and art. That is why I pride myself in handpicking all our flowers, to ensure customers with the highest quality products designed with creative innovation and artistry.

I really love getting to know my clients or having them send me their inspirations, colors, and ideas and then surprising them by bringing their vision to life.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I like how much it has diversified and how much it has to offer both outdoor and indoors.

As with all growing cities, I least like the traffic.
