Check Out Danielle Damrell’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Damrell.

Hi Danielle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a wife, mom, artist, creative motivator and podcaster based just outside of Denver, Colorado. Growing up my life was difficult and I grew up in an unstable and abusive household. Creating things was an escape for me and helped me to feel like I was potentially good at something. I have always had a love for creating, but in 2017 I turned my love into my actual job. Whether it be creating intentional conversations, paintings, graphics, posts, or anything else… I try to spend as much time as possible creating. I specialize in lettering, but I went to school for communication/public speaking.

Now I’m in a chapter where both of these passions are intertwining and I love it! I recently launched a new collection of encouraging and affirming products through my direct website (www.damrellcreativeco.com) and I am launching a new podcast on JUNE 14TH! I have never felt more called into something as I do with launching this podcast. The show is called The Created Worthy Podcast is a show which aims to encourage authentic connections and creative processing. I sit down with women from a variety of ages, backgrounds, and experiences and I provide a platform for them to share their stories. For some guests, this is the very first time they have ever shared publicly. We develop the skills and determination to keep healing and moving forward through our faith, connections, and sharing our REAL stories. We also talk about Creative Processing and it is an underutilized tool that can make maintaining mental wellness, structure, and consistency POSSIBLE… especially during chaotic seasons. Who we are and what each of us has gone through typically points to valuable life lessons that could help many people. I believe no matter what we’ve come from or what we look like, we are all CREATED WORTHY and all serve a unique purpose through creating.

One interesting thing about my story but something I try to honor because it was honestly a really difficult experience is in September 2020, my family and I actually had the opportunity to reconcile on the Dr. Phil show (this is not public information yet but it will be when my Podcast launches on June 14th.) It went just about as bad as it could have, but the lessons I learned from it made it all worth it. Sometimes we have to go through heartbreaking experiences in order to experience the freedom we’re searching for. That was my experience, at least, and this event leads to the season I am in now- the season I have been working so hard for… the season of freedom (and continued healing.)

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Childhood Trauma (resulting in a life-long battle with C-PTSD) – Adhd. Behavioral Issues resulting in multiple expulsions from school and other places I was at as a teenager. Got pregnant while attending a conservative Christian University… and had NO IDEA how to parent. Single parenthood while in a terrible on-and-off relationship.

Being laid off and starting my own business. Getting married and graduating from college within two months. Continued mental health struggles... the list could go on, but I think you get the point!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Here’s my business pitch! “Danielle Damrell Creative Collective (DDCC) is a continuously expanding collection of creative products, blogs, graphics, and custom pieces that aim to spread love, truth, and vulnerable encouragement. Head over to damrellcreativeco.com to find all kinds of resources! From playlists to help you with intentional creative processing to Amazon recommendations for all types of crafty things- I’ve got you covered!

Oh! And make sure to check out The Worthy Collection, my most recent collection for obvious reasons, where you can find hand-drawn stickers and prints. This collection is consists of truths and revelations I’ve experienced over the last year. Make sure to check out the product descriptions on my website to read about the stories behind each of the designs.”

I specialize in lettering and communication- so DDCC is kinda a unique collection of those things in roundabout ways. I am known for being a hot mess as a kid/teenager and now I am fighting for my reputation back. I am NOT who I was… and I have done a ton of intensive work to heal. I am proud to be the first person many people call when they are in crisis mode because it is my life mission to love and serve in any way that I can. I am connected and blunt but care deeply about each person I meet. I am also known for my Mountain Table Numbers that I sell on Etsy. They are a huge hit and are also a lot of work! I am really hoping that podcasting and speaking becomes more of my full-time job. I will never stop creating… but I would love for that to turn back into a hobby or side gig to be honest.

What are your plans for the future?
PODCAST! Have I said that? 😂 My husband and I are also going through fertility treatments starting this month so I’m really hoping/looking forward to growing our family.
