Today we’d like to introduce you to Dino Zarlengo.

Hi Dino, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Once a year, the family would get together, in a home, to make this amazing zarlengo seasoning. While quarantined, during COVID, I decided that this 4 generational family seasoning needed to be taken to market to share with others! The family elders gave me permission to take it to market. My wife and I created the business, designed the label, and found a local co-packer. We received our first 500 units in June of 2021. Our website was designed, facebook and instagram accounts created and we began marketing the product immediately. We would attend car shows and local craft fairs. Friends and family helped spread the word. Those who purchased the product returned to buy more. We have sold product in all 50 states and even sold product into Canada. Through social media and word of mouth, the business continues to be successful.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Its been mostly smooth but the biggest struggles would be marketing. Finding time to consistently market on social media is tough given my wife and I work full time.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Related to the business of interest, (zarlengo seasoning), the products family recipe has been handed down for 4 generations. One of our slogans is “the secret is the seasoning” and that is because it truly is an unique Italian seasoning. What sets it apart from others, is the secret and we are unable to share that information. We are most proud of the way the seasoning speaks for itself. We haven’t heard of anyone that is unhappy with the product when they try it.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The product has been around for 4 generations already and we do believe as more people try the product, we will continue to sell! We are proud to share that we released another version of our Italian seasoning this year. It is a spicy version. We are hoping to get the seasoning into grocery stores this year and to continue to grow the business through social media.
