Check Out Dr. Johnny Davis’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Johnny Davis.

Hi Dr. Johnny, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Dr. Johnny Davis, D.C. brings energy, experience, and a deep sense of purpose to his chiropractic practice—roots that trace back to his childhood in Englewood, Illinois.

Growing up in Englewood shaped who I am, It gave me the drive and determination I carry into everything I do today. I first discovered chiropractic care while playing football at Saint Xavier University. After sustaining a painful lower back injury during a game that left him with limited mobility in his right leg, I turned to my sister, a chiropractic assistant, for help. I was scared—I just wanted to get back on the field, but after one adjustment, I walked out of the office pain-free. That moment changed everything for me. It inspired me to shift my career focus to chiropractic care. I went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Northern Illinois University before moving to Port Orange, Florida, to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic. While at Palmer, I immersed myself in hands-on training, becoming actively involved in the Gonstead Technique Club and attending numerous advanced seminars. I am also Webster Certified, with a special emphasis on pediatric chiropractic care. Before settling in Colorado in 2021, I practiced in Minnesota for one year and in Wisconsin for two. I have owned in Highlands Ranch now 3 years and thrilled to serve its vibrant and growing community.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I can write a list for this one because owning any business is a struggle in the beginning and especially not having friends or family in the area you open up a business is even harder. Some struggles would include: Building trust with a patient base that may not be familiar with or used to seeing Black doctors, Initial impressions, even before treatment begins, Hiring and scaling up, People already have established relationships with other providers, having to spend lunches and weekends at pop up events, farmers markets, lunch and learns just for exposure so people would know I exist in the community. Then once you get them through the door, changing people’s mindsets that chiropractic is more than just: It’s only for back pain, It’s not “real” medicine, or they only need a chiropractor once.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is the personalized experience I give each patient. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care. Whether someone is a high-performing athlete, a busy parent, or a child going through physical milestones, I take the time to listen, assess, and tailor a plan that supports their unique goals.

I’m also passionate about education and empowerment. I want every patient to understand not just what we’re doing, but why—so they feel confident and in control of their health journey.

What I’m most proud of is the trust my patients place in me. Hearing that someone was able to pick up their child again, return to their sport, or simply live without daily pain—that’s the most rewarding part of this work. As a Black chiropractor, I’m also proud to bring representation and cultural awareness to a field that hasn’t always reflected the diversity of the communities it serves. I strive to make everyone who walks through my doors feel seen, heard, and cared for.

Ultimately, I’m here to serve—to help people become the healthiest, most vibrant version of themselves.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
One fun fact about me—I’m also a YouTube gamer! It’s something I genuinely enjoy, not just for entertainment, but for the meaningful connections it allows me to build. Through gaming, I’ve had the chance to interact with people from all over the world, especially young kids who may be going through tough times.

Sometimes they just need someone to talk to, laugh with, or play a game with when they’re feeling unheard or down on themselves. The world can be isolating, and while I work to help people function better physically through chiropractic care during the week, gaming gives me another outlet to support people emotionally. It’s another way I try to make a difference—reminding others that someone out there sees them, hears them, and cares. If you need a friend to play fornite or other video games with, follow me @jm0b
