Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Davis.

Evan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started bartending in 2012 while I was in the military. Once I retired out of the Air Force (I was a Sharpshooter for 10+ years, HINT: Mix and SHOOT!), a job opportunity took me to Las Vegas in which I had learned about private bartending and sharpened my knowledge within the industry. I decided to come home to Colorado, and as a Native, opened Mix and Shoot Beverage in 2017. Since that time, through word of mouth, we have grown into a company of 45+ Bartenders and conducting over 250+ events a year.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a small company, battling with contracts and exclusivities has been a challenge to face. Finding the right venues to allow us in and making sure our prices meet our standards and yet not too expensive for the average client to afford us has always been handled with a fine tooth comb. I think now we are rightly priced for the service we provide, and more and more venues are opening their doors to the opportunity of what we can offer them and their clients.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love that we have grown our family through referrals and not hire any regular person off of the street. Our bartenders actively work within the industry in some form which keeps them up to date with current trends and skills a bartender needs to perform at their top level. With this we also take our staff to perform any Front of the House duty that the event needs done. We don’t just stand behind the bar as we want to be apart of the event itself and showcase and help guide and guard our clients experience. Not because it isn’t or is written in a contract, but because we want to ensure the event itself runs well and has people talking about it for years.

With all the mobile bar companies out there, I would say we are the fun, flair, dancing and fast volume style of bartending. We don’t like to just sit around and pour a vodka soda. We like to make a memory and MIX THE BEST EXPERIENCE IN COLORADO.

What makes you happy?
Knowing that at the end of the night, we took part in someone’s celebration. That is what bartending is! Anyone can make a cocktail and make it their way, but why go out and have someone else do it for them? Why host an event? You are celebrating a time in someone’s life. I don’t understand why catering companies try to take over and make things their way. That is not how this industry is suppose to be, we are here to cater to somebody’s own celebration in a time of their life. Make it memorable, make it special to the client, and make it a time in which they will never forget.
