Today we’d like to introduce you to Fayth Hand
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Before I started my business, I felt lost in the career I was in, unhappy and working for someone else who told me when I could and couldn’t take time off, even if it was for family emergencies.
One day, it hit me like a ton of bricks and I decided I wanted to become a lash artist. This was summer of 2019. I applied for esthetician school!
In esthetician school I took a lash class as soon as I was able to. I took clients everyday until graduation.
Once I graduated esthetic school, I got my license and put my two weeks in at work to start my lash career full time. I didn’t know what I was doing, I just knew I wanted to work for myself, not another lash salon! So I went for it.
At this point it’s now March 2020.
Two weeks into starting my new dream, Covid hit America and all salons in Colorado were mandatory shut down.
What could have made me quit- should have made me quitt, only made me push through harder!
I told myself there’s no plan b.
Once salons opened back up, I used this as an opportunity to soar my career as a lash artist in Fort Collins.
Now we are in 2024, and my business is thriving! I am now certified in all lash styles, I have a fully booked clientele, I’m a lash educator with a passion in helping other lash artists thrive and push themselves in their careers as well! I’ve been able to travel to lash conventions with another lash brand, AW Lashes, and work huge lash events with them.
I’ve now been able to host my own Lash Social in Colorado for local lash artists to build a community & support that the beauty industry needs!
In the beginning, I started my business for myself to benefit my family and make my own schedule.
But along the way, I discovered my business is greater then ME and just putting lashes on clients.
It’s the connections I’ve made with my clients. It’s the ability to empower women. Its making them feel exceedingly beautiful and better than ever when leaving my studio. It’s being able to help other lash artists believe in themselves, and thrive in their businesses as well.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all!
All business owners face challenges along the way. Starting a business in 2020 was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Starting a business with no clue what I was doing in the beginning but doing it anyways.
The struggles make you stronger and come out better in the end!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a licensed esthetician and I specialize in lash extensions.
I’m certified in all lash styles, but I specialize in light natural angel sets, as well as mega volume sets!
I focus on natural lash health, while giving my clients a style that fits their face & eye shapes and enhances their natural features.
I now offer brown lashes, which is amazing for fair toned clients too!
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was always very driven! I worked hard in school, I loved playing sports, and when I turned 16 I got a job as soon as I could!
I grew up in a home with an alcoholic parent, the other parent working away from home in the oil field, and a brother 9 years younger then me.
This made me grow up quicker then most children have to, which I wouldn’t take back because it’s built who I am today!
