Today we’re excited to be connecting with Haley Nelson again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Haley, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
Hi, my name is Haley Nelson. I am the owner of two small businesses here in Denver, as well as a High school Art teacher! I have been a teacher for 10 years and found outlets in creativity in different avenues.
Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
I currently am balancing how I want to spend my time between my two hobbies/passions. Over the past 6 years I have developed a jewelry company, Sage Moon. Through Sage Moon I have primarily created small batch polymer clay and gold jewelry. I have additionally been able to incorporate my love of fine arts, ceramics, and other mediums as I am able to. In the past few months I have begun to dive more deeply into Photography as well. You can find me at Haley Nelson Photography (haleynelson_photo) on Instagram. I am loving doing both jewelry and photography and finding the balance in doing what works best for me.
We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

Life is often about tough choices – can you talk to us about your thought process, strategy or philosophy when it comes to making difficult choices or tradeoffs.
Life is full of tough choices, some of which don’t even seem tough at the time. We make choices every day in how we put forth our energy, how we spend out time, the job we keep, the people we hang out with. I think the hardest part is that all of these are tough choices that we sometimes let slip by or don’t think to spend more time deciding on until after the fact. Many people stay in a job, relationship, or pattern that doesn’t bring them joy because it is comfortable. I think as I get older I am starting to realize the small decisions help you to make the harder ones.
