Check Out Hannah Trollope’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Trollope

Hannah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My love for photography started at a young age and when I got to high school I met my amazing photography teacher Ms.Sierra, she passed away from cancer in 2020 but she really made a large impact on the photographer I am today. A lot of my knowledge about photography and even my love for it came from her so I greatly appreciate her and everything she taught me. After high school, I would take my camera and walk around Denver for hours just taking pictures, editing, and then posting them on social media. Within this past year, I started taking photography more seriously and decided to go to school for multimedia. Outside of school though, I started doing what I could do to get experience and my name out there a little more. I’ve been blessed with a lot of opportunities to be able to shoot for other people and because of that I’ve been able to grow my portfolio.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
So far it’s been a pretty smooth road, since I’m still in school and learning, I definitely still have a long road ahead of me but I’ve been working hard to grow my portfolio and put what I’m learning to use.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Photography is mainly what I do, I have experience in doing street, portrait, sport and landscape. Recently, I’ve gotten more into videography so I have a few videos on my portfolio website as well. I have the most experience in street photography because I’ve been doing it the longest. I love street photography because it’s the art of observation and is full of candid moments of normal, everyday life and to me there is something very beautiful about that, so that’s also what I’m proud of is being able to capture the heart of Denver.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that in order to grow as a photographer or videographer, obviously educating yourself and about the art is something you should do if you want to become a professional in those businesses, but what I’ve learned as well is the importance of building a portfolio and networking, it’s how you get the jobs and the opportunities. If you want your name out there and if you want to grow in your photo and video skills you have to practice, get to know your camera and film or take pictures of whatever you can, whenever you can and through that, people will start to turn their heads and reach out to you.
