Today we’d like to introduce you to Horse Bitch.
Hello Horse Bitch, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
We are a 5 piece band from Denver/Lakewood. We started writing songs about space and then we did a rock n roll album called “RIP Pistashio” that was very complicated and good in that way and all the people liked it. We are all friends and really like making songs together. We are currently making very complicated new music and playing very cool and good shows.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
We all play music professionally with various different artists both locally and nationally. It can be challenging to get everyone together at times because of that. That being said, our band gives us all a place where we don’t feel too pressured to meet any expectations or anything like that, so we can just focus on making music we enjoy.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
A big thing that sets us apart is the fact that we have a pedal steel player and a fiddle player, but we are an emo kind of band. So it is cool to have sounds that are more associated with traditional country/Honky-tonk music while playing a pretty different style of music.
Our friends Mike and Gion from a very good band called “Clementine Was Right” said “We’ve never seen people moshing with pedal steel on stage before” or something like that. And that is true. No one moshes to pedal steel unless it is at a Horse Bitch show. And this is the truth.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
We would love to see you at a show sometime!!!!!!!!! If music does not bring joy, I will buy you an ice cream cone.
Please listen to our album “RIP Pistashio” on Spotify or Apple Music or pretty much anywhere else online and follow us on Instagram or something to see when we play next! We appreciate Voyage Denver for interviewing us. Thank you!
We would also like to thank Jordan Altergott for the amazing photos!
