Check Out Jadyn of Dyn Art Studio’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jadyn.

Jadyn

Hi Jadyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello, my name is Jadyn, and I’m a 24-year-old self-taught visual artist in Lafayette, CO. My story starts back in 1998 when I was born in a small town in Nebraska. My dad is a custom work artist specializing in airbrush, signage, murals, and auto graphics, and my mom is a stained glass artist as well as an accountant. With this influence in my life, I was always encouraged to express myself through art, and have been doing so ever since I could pick up a pencil or a brush.

When I was 5 years old, my parents opened an art gallery/café, which is where I spent a lot of my time growing up. My parents also reconstructed old churches together, and my dad has painted countless murals all over Nebraska and many other states. I also began to play the violin at 7 years old, the flute at 9 years old, the piano at 11 years old, and the guitar at 12 years old. I had endless tools and resources surrounding me during my childhood, and I wouldn’t be the artist I am today without my parents’ encouragement.

As I grew older, I used art and music as a way to express myself through the good times, hard times, and everything in between. I moved to Colorado when I was 17 years old, and my life as a creative shifted – suddenly, I was meeting other artists and stumbling upon other works of art of all kinds. I felt my creativity flourish, found myself experimenting with many different mediums, and discovered my own definitive style.

While I continued to practice my craft, I was also figuring out what I wanted to pursue as a career. I worked in retail and restaurant management, as a personal trainer, barista, server, and many others. However, art is something that has always been a constant for me – not just as a hobby, but as a way of meditation, expressionism, therapy, and simply as a way of life. This realization led me to my decision to open my own business, “DYN ART STUDIO”.

I am currently doing commission work, as well as selling original pieces and prints. I would describe my artwork as surrealistic and rich in color, inspired by my dreams, visions, realizations, and my own personal experiences navigating through life. It deeply humbles me and excites me to start this new journey as an artist – not just seeking to master my craft, but being able to share it with the world and learn from others as I go. Thank you for reading my story.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Art is something that has always come naturally to me – it is what has helped me to navigate through my personal struggles and not only find peace but to create visual representations of what I was going through. I do experience artist’s block from time to time, but I believe that it’s a necessary part of the process in order to rest, refresh the mind, and allow new ideas to come about.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in portraits and human figures, but my pieces’ subjects widely vary. This includes animals, architecture, objects, elements in nature, and more. I am known for my unique use of rich colors, bold lines, and surrealistic style.

What are your plans for the future?
I plan to continue learning as an artist and growing my business by practicing other crafts such as rug tufting, ceramics, screen-printing, stained glass, and airbrush. I would also love to challenge myself as a creative by arranging and writing my own music one day.
