Today we’d like to introduce you to Jai H.
Hi Jai, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is KYSJai, I started writing lyrics probably when I was around 5 years old, I started recording and taking myself seriously around 15-16 years old. Was able to get my first show in March of 2024 and since then the shows havnt stopped, Ive went from performing in bowling alleys, Denver skateparks, Kansas City, Greeley Parks, and venues like The Moxi in Greeley and The Roxy in Denver
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s the smoothest bumpy road if that makes sense. A lot of stress comes with it and a lot of mood swings but at the end of the day im more than greatfull for the memories Ive made and the friends I have made. No matter what type of stress I endure i could never get tired of the performing feeling and meeting new artists and locking in with them.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I make a mixed genre styled of music. I use elements mainly from Hip hop, Punk, Trap, Hardcore, and Nu-Metal. Im not entirely sure what im most known for, if I had to guess I’d say it’s my high pitch fry screams as I get compliments on those a lot. I feel like what sets me apart from others is i constantly try to bend genres to make somthing new, I never wanna stay in a box. Most artists now find a simple sound and ride it out dry til it’s boring. I never wanna have a boring song.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The scene that im affiliated with has alredy grown within the past year. In November 2024 there was a shown hosted in Greeley by Slim Hølløw called BØØTCAMP #2 that absolutely changed the momentum and energy of the scene. It built us together giving everyone the chance to work with each other and grow together. Judging how tight the scene is there’s no telling what we will look like in 5-10 years, we could be mainstream doing arena tours or we could be underground still doing 160-200 cap venues. Either way I’ll be happy with it
