Check Out Jaimie Beebe’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaimie Beebe.

Hi Jaimie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I think I’ve had every job imaginable haha! I love creating, being active, and having an adventure in everything I do, so I fit right into production and filmmaking. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do when I moved to Los Angeles, I had a Master’s Degree in Music Management and was working in Real Estate – neither of which really interested me anymore, so I had an opportunity to jump into production managing a boutique production company and took it! I worked there for a couple of years and learned all the ins and outs of each job, figuring out that I really loved the casting aspect. When the company shut down, I put all my efforts into casting and have been casting TV, Film, Commercials, VO, Music Videos, Reality TV, and pretty much anything you see out there. During the Pandemic, I also started a podcast called “Strictly Stalking” with my business partner, which I love doing and it opened up a lot more opportunities for me. I’m currently still working as a Casting Director, starting a second podcast, launching a bikini company, and traveling the world every chance I get.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s never a smooth road! I’m the type of person that wants to do everything and anything, so I have a tendency to try it all and fail a lot. The great thing about that is every time I fail at something I learn more and grow more and get that much closer to succeeding the next time. I know that’s a pretty meta answer! It’s also been a struggle just being a woman who wants to break all the glass ceilings. I’ve been in meetings where I’ve said something and it gets ignored, but five minutes later a man will say the same exact thing and he’s a genius. It can be really frustrating, but it’s taught me a lot about standing up for myself.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I wear a lot of hats… my main goal has always been to create, travel the world, never be bored, and never have to be in an office. In order to achieve that goal, I’ve had to connect a lot of dots! Working as a freelance Casting Director gave me the time to start other businesses and pursue other creative outlets during my downtime so when the Pandemic and quarantine happened and filming came to a halt, I started my podcast. When I started the podcast, I had no idea how successful it would become and how much it would mean to my listeners to hear stories of other victims and not feel so alone. “Strictly Stalking” is a podcast that we use as a platform for survivors of stalkers to tell their stories and we highlight ways to stay safe and advice for others going through the same thing. It means the world to me when I get an email from a listener that has used my podcast to get help. My latest project has been launching my bikini company, The Boyfriend Bikini. It’s always been on my bucket list to design and sell my own bikinis, so one day I just went for it and started researching.

I found a designer out of Paris to help me with the pattern and then a manufacturer out of Bali to make them and am really excited to see people wearing my creation. I named it The Boyfriend Bikini because I took that saying about girls leveling up after a toxic relationship ends very literally: travel more, get hotter, make more money, start businesses, and fall in love with someone better! So The Boyfriend Bikini is about personal growth, finding your peace, claiming your happiness and being boss AF! It’s about being your true self and not giving a shit what other people think – so ask that guy out, apply for that job, take extra vacation days, travel solo around the world, and don’t be afraid to wear that tiny bikini. All the colors/styles are named after men I know that made a positive lasting impression on my life, and each one comes with a story about the guy it’s named after. Now that I’m launching The Boyfriend Bikini, my next project is another podcast and staying on brand, the premise is stories of people who get killed or go missing while on vacation. Hoping to launch in early 2023!

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Yes! I learned so much during that time about myself and how resilient I am. I had just gotten out of a very toxic and abusive relationship on Valentine’s Day of 2020, right before the full effect of the Pandemic hit so I was living alone for the first time in over seven years and I took that time alone to reflect and focus and find happiness again. I really had no choice but to be alone and look inside to find my strength and heal from that horrific relationship – but it worked and I found my happiness! Once I got my confidence back, my creativity came back too and I pushed forward and did all the things I thought I couldn’t do when I was with that person. It was a huge time of growth for me. I learned that if I believe in myself, I can literally do anything.
