Check Out Jasmine Padilla’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Padilla

Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in Denver, Colorado, where my sister and I were just 10 months apart, giving us a close-knit bond from the start. I pursued my education at Colorado State University, graduating with a degree in Marketing. From a young age, I knew I wanted to create something of my own, but like many, I found the reality of living in Colorado to be a challenge. The cost of living was high, and I often worked two jobs to stay afloat.

After college, I landed a marketing manager position at the Auraria Campus. It was a proud moment that felt like I was finally on track, but even with this accomplishment, I quickly learned how tough the hustle can be. Despite the challenges, I’ve always been passionate about marketing, storytelling, and the energy that comes with the vibrant events and music scene in Denver.

My love for events and photography eventually led me to start For The Mems, my photobooth business. It’s a fun, interactive way to bring people together and capture memories in a way that’s more dynamic than just snapping photos. I’m excited about where this venture will take me, and I’m constantly exploring creative ways to make it stand out.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting a small business in Denver comes with its own set of challenges, especially in a competitive market where so many people are trying to do the same thing. Balancing my full-time job as a digital marketing and social media manager, a part-time job as a server, and still finding the energy to pour into my business has been overwhelming at times. I quickly learned that you truly get what you put in, and if you want your venture to succeed, there’s no room to take your foot off the gas. Time management, energy, and staying motivated have been constant hurdles, but I’m committed to pushing through.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
In my work, I focus on all aspects of digital media, from graphic design to website creation. I specialize in multimedia, which includes photography, video, illustration, animation, design, and more. Multimedia is a powerful communication tool for educating, inspiring, and motivating people, and that’s where I come in. Whether it’s a sleek flyer, an engaging social media graphic, or a custom website, I’m passionate about making things look good and function well.

This skill set also plays a huge role in my photobooth business, For The Mems, where I create custom photo templates, props, and other personalized elements for events. I’ve designed logos for small businesses, and I love seeing my work out in the Denver community. What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with a technical edge, allowing me to bring any idea to life across multiple digital platforms.

I’m most proud of the variety in my work—from corporate clients to local small businesses—and the ability to adapt to different projects with a fresh perspective each time.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
One surprising thing about me that many people might not know is that I’ve always juggled multiple jobs. While I run my photobooth business and work full-time in digital marketing, I also work part-time as a server to support my entrepreneurial goals. It’s been challenging, especially with the added hardship of my dad battling cancer. Managing everything while supporting my family has made this journey even tougher, but it’s also made me more determined.

Another unexpected fact is that while I’m deeply immersed in digital media now, my journey didn’t start there. I initially studied business at CSU, thinking I’d go into marketing. However, my passion for design and creativity led me to switch to journalism and multimedia communication. Fun fact—macro economics actually pushed me into this new path, as I struggled to get a B in the class, which was required for my business major.

Additionally, a lot of what I do today in multimedia, I’ve taught myself through hands-on experience, which has been a huge part of my growth. Even though most people see my creative work, it’s my love for storytelling, whether through design, video, or photography, that truly drives me.
