Check Out Jordan Allen’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Allen.

Hi Jordan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m from a small town in Louisiana named West Monroe. It’s known for Football and good fishing. I actually earned a full-ride athletic scholarship to LSU early in my high school career. I went on to play Defensive End for LSU, where I graduated in a short three and a half years. After college, I spent some time figuring out what I needed to do with my life with a degree and no football. I spent some time working odd jobs and with my father around my hometown. One Monday evening before I could head over to my parent’s house to eat dinner with them, I received a text from my mother that read “dad’s heart” and I rushed over. I didn’t beat the ambulance there and my father was gone before I made it. My life changed that day and I knew I had to work harder than I ever had before.

I started off for the Bakken oil patch in North Dakota and worked on production pads for two years before I left to work on the railroad, where I followed a Ballast train around the entirety of the United States for another two years of my life. I managed to save up enough money to finally move to Denver at the end of 2020 during the heart of the pandemic. It was at this time one of my best friends and brother, Daniel showed me Ableton Live and I fell in love. I’ve casually played guitar since I was 14 and always loved great music but I never felt particularly talented when it came to music. Ableton bridged my love of gaming and love of music in a way that provided a medium for my creativity and emotion to flow through.

I found work as a service technician and was overworked and robbed of my wages by a local company in Denver. I kept pushing through until I was contacted by a member of the company I currently work for. I run the Denver branch of a moving company and it has allowed me to continue working on music to this day. I’m currently working on my first album and have only released two official remixes on my Soundcloud so far. I truly believe I’ve barely tapped the potential of my musical expression and I cannot wait to realize my full potential and share it with the world.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say Football, local and statewide fame for a short time, my father passing away when I was 25, and trying to maintain my spiritual faith.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I enjoy creating beautiful, melodic, and transient music that really stirs the calm nature in listeners; however, I tend to have a side that enjoys creating extremely funky and bass-heavy arrangements as well. I’m still exploring and fleshing out the likes and dislikes of my own style and I’m excited to see what comes!

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Dedication, discipline, and ability to find inspiration and translate it into something everyone else can enjoy
