Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Byrom

Hi Julia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My artistic journey started when I was very young. I’ve always had an interest in art and I was very inspired by the Renaissance movement and sculpture. I started drawing anime to begin, and slowly fell in love with painting figures, especially women.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Making a living off art and painting is no easy feat! There are always new challenges, including navigating social media and self-promotion. Success consists of failing and trying new things, over and over again!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My primary medium is acrylic paint on canvas. I enjoy painting figures, nature, and visions in a surrealistic style. I am most proud of my paintings that tell a story. I want to create art that speaks to the spirit. I love how everyone will have their own interpretations or feelings towards the art–that is why I enjoy surrealism so much!

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is when my family threw me a surprise Sailor Moon birthday party!
