Check Out Kendall Hope’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendall Hope.

Kendall Hope

Kendall, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started when I had reached out to my wonderful publisher and friend, Flor Ana when she was only a stranger to me, who I had admired on Instagram for her self-publishing. I started a mentorship with her and blossomed from there, publishing my first book through Indie Earth Publishing with her, Pockets of Lavender.

That came out on August 31, 2022. Since that time, I have come out with my second book, The Willow Weepings, sold out of book signings, have my books in local bookstores, met amazing people, and kept writing! One of my best friends in the whole world, Amelie Honeysuckle, started her author journey on my timeline as well and gave me the chance for this interview.

It has been incredible for me to see Amelie and Flor’s author journeys beside mine. I am so grateful for the experience being a poet has brought me and am so proud.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I would say it has been a smooth road, solely because of my outlook. I am a pretty positive person and count every opportunity in the author world as a success. I get to learn and constantly grow, which is a huge theme I aim towards in my life, always. Some struggles have been promoting or finding new outlets sometimes, but the ones I have and individual connections I make, outweigh any sort of struggle.

Rather than a “not ever” it may just be a “not right now” moment. Even in the time I’ve been a published author I have worked on new things over time that Kendall at the start, would not have imagined. I adore the journey and think it all to be such a pleasure. I am so passionate about writing that it makes it seem like a smooth road.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love creativity. I find myself to not only be an author, but an artist. My books include my photography, illustrations, and some mixed media with my typewriters and collages. I think I am most proud of the way I can express myself and my vulnerability through my art and my poetry.

Nature is a huge inspiration for me and helps fuel a lot of my passion for the creative world. I think that sets me apart from others in some ways because I find myself to be a true essence of the natural world. I love feeling so deeply and talking about it to anyone who connects, which I find easily attracts in my world.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My advice for networking in general would probably be to push yourself to be a little uncomfortable in connection. I love human connection, but sometimes meeting new people or approaching a new environment can be intimidating.

Whenever I have tried new things and met new people, it has always had such a wonderful benefit or learning experience. A lot of events have worked well for me. I get to meet tons of people who are like minded and sometimes offer new opportunities. Or it pushes me to find some in my own time.
