Today we’d like to introduce you to King Delane.
Hi King, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been recording and performing on stage for 20 plus years. I’ve been all through California, Oregon, Nevada, and Arizona. Along the way, I just kept my business game as professional as possible. Networking has played a major part in my career. That took me some time to learn, but it’s what got me on the Raising the Bar Tour and brought me to Colorado.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely been more on the rough side for the most part. There are times when it was a smooth path. But for me personally, I moved around a lot so I had to make a name for myself in every new place. There are a lot more obstacles along the way so I definitely had to work hard to get where I’m at now.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Being a rapper isn’t as easy as most people think. Aside from talent, you have to have ambition, and a strong business mentality, and you have to make sacrifices. I have a very demanding presence, so when I walk in a room or when I’m on-stage people want to hear what I have to say. But I’m most proud of my work ethic, which not only has created opportunities to share stages and record songs with some very well-known artists but has also given me the drive to drop eight albums in the past five years.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
This industry is in constant change. The trends change every few years. It’s really hard to say where hip hop is going to be.
