Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Russell.

Kristen Russell

Hi Kristen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started Simply Golden from a place of passion for holistic wellness and a desire to help women feel radiant from the inside out. My journey began with my own personal experiences — navigating skin issues, hormonal imbalances, and the challenges of balancing life while prioritizing self-care. I realized there was a gap between quick fixes and truly holistic solutions, and I wanted to create something that addressed the whole person — skin, soul, and hormones.

As a certified yoga instructor for over a decade, I’ve seen firsthand the transformative power of practices like meditation, breathwork, and sound healing. It became clear to me that true wellness isn’t just skin deep — it’s about healing the soul as well. That’s why I incorporated these mindful practices into my work, blending aesthetics, nutrition, and self-care with tools for emotional and energetic balance.

Over the years, I consolidated all of the tools that have helped me heal and transform my own body and mind. Once I began to feel and see their impact, I knew I had to share them with the world. A little over a year ago, I moved here from Alaska to the Western Slope of Colorado and in December of 2024 took a big leap of faith and opened, Simply Golden to bring these practices to more women, combining my love for the desert life with my passion for holistic wellness.

This inspiration led to the creation of Simply Golden’s Holistic Skin, Soul & Hormone Harmony Program, an online program that empowers women to nourish their bodies, balance their hormones, and reconnect with themselves on a deeper level.

Today, Simply Golden is about more than skin — it’s about helping women feel truly aligned, radiant, and confident in their bodies, minds, and lives.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I often call all of my careers and my business my “battles to blessings” — because getting to this point has honestly not been a smooth road at all. In fact, I’ve experienced some of the most challenging battles when it comes to my health and personal life. I’ve literally faced hell in my own body and mind, but I fought hard, worked through it, and those struggles led me to discover my greatest passion and purpose.

Starting Simply Golden was also a journey of trial and error. When I first opened the business, I spent over a month giving away free treatments just to get my name and work out into the world. It was humbling, and at times it felt uncertain, but slowly my clientele began to grow. So many people were seeking a holistic path to healing, and they resonated with the combination of skincare, nutrition, and soul-centered practices I was offering.

Through those early challenges, and the long road of finding what worked, I realized that the very experiences that tested me became the foundation of everything I do today. Simply Golden isn’t just a business — it’s a space for transformation, a place where women can heal, reconnect with their bodies, and embrace a holistic path to wellness.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in holistic skincare, hormone balance, and soulful wellness. My work blends advanced aesthetics and skin treatments with nutrition, mindful practices, and energy work, including meditation, breathwork, yoga, and sound healing. I’ve been a yoga instructor for over a decade, and I believe true transformation happens when we address the whole person — skin, body, mind, and soul.

What sets my work apart is that it’s very different from your typical facial or med spa experience. I strive to create a full sensory experience for my clients, addressing sight, touch, smell, and even sound, so they leave feeling inspired, renewed, and deeply nourished from the inside out. It’s not just about improving skin — it’s about creating lasting alignment, confidence, and balance.

I’m also proud to have created Break the Chains, a program designed for the deeper work of breaking generational patterns, building confidence, and helping women step fully into their power. Through this, clients can go beyond physical wellness and work on the emotional and energetic patterns that hold them back.

What I’m most proud of is seeing women reclaim their confidence, reconnect with their bodies, and feel aligned in all aspects of their lives. Simply Golden isn’t just a business — it’s a holistic space for transformation, a place where women can heal, grow, and thrive in a sustainable, soul-centered way.

How do you define success?
To me, success is achieving true happiness and confidence from within. It’s about not letting others’ perceptions or societal expectations hold you back, and instead going confidently in the direction of your dreams to live the life you’ve always imagined. Success isn’t measured by money or external markers — it’s measured by the sense of inner joy, self-trust, and alignment.

I believe we all have this innate happiness and confidence, though it often gets distorted by society and the beliefs we grew up with. True success is reclaiming it — living a life where we feel happy, healthy, and free, and allowing ourselves to accomplish whatever our true desires are. To me, that is living fully, authentically, and in alignment with who we truly are.
