Check Out Lala’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lala.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would love to say it’s been a smooth road…however that’s definitely not the case. Since the beginning of my radio journey I ran into not only obstacles that was impossible to ignore, to obstacles i put in front of my self…these challenges include the death of my father, to getting pregnant with TWINS within a year. As far as challenges, obtaining and keeping confidence is always a major factor in anything you do. Imposter syndrome is unfortunately extremely too common. I faced the challenge of believing I was/am good enough to be able to talk and connect with not only my city but people nationwide.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in sarcasm..lol but these days I’m known for ”Lala from KS1075” which to be honest I can’t even put into words how that makes me feel. I’m most proud of how I have the ability to achieve so much from just being…me. What sets me apart from others is the fact that my background, upbringing and. Environment has created such a diverse, witted, motivated radio superstar.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
If you are just starting out and have a dream..I’m going to be real..it’s not easy dreaming. The difference of dreaming and it becoming a reality is work. There were days back when i was an intern for FLO 107.1 and I would be at the station at 6am everyday Monday-Friday, I put in 40 hours for FREE, just so i could not only learn as much as i could but prove that i was willing to WORK for my dream. Something I knew before I started out would be…not every opportunity is your opportunity.
